"Intuitive, Fast, A Great Value"
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I downloaded this product to transfer data from my work computer onto my personal drive. It was mainly wedding photos, but for the past 5 years I have used my work computer for personal storage as well. (I know, I know...)

Since I was looking to switch jobs, I knew I needed a reliable and robust source of data storage in the cloud on which to store my valuable wedding photos (and some other secure documents, like tax records from previous years). Getting started was really easy. I'm annoyed that I put it off for so long!

I'm so glad I found iDrive! The price was right, it was really user friendly, and even though I uploaded over 1,000 wedding photos I'm not even close to using all my storage. I would recommend this solution to anyone looking for a cloud-based secure storage solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I have no complaints at all! I look forward to continuing to use the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not-great integration with Linux"
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

Low price, the idea of retaining old versions that don't count against storage quota. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

The Linux integration wasn't great. I was expecting a GUI as shown on the web site, but it's a text-only system (though it does at least have menus). The command-line integration did not work well; the binary did not end up in my path so I had to find the file to run on my own. Doing "idrive --help" doesn't tell you "idrive --backup" will work, etc.

I couldn't figure out how to restore files using the text-menu client, so I had to use the web interface, which is considerably less secure. Since I already have scripts to compress and encrypt my files, I'm not sure the "retaining old versions" feature will work (and I can't figure out how to access it through the web interface) so it probably would have been easier to just get a cloud box I can rsync to.

It seemed to work a lot better for my husband on his Mac.

Upload was slow - took over 5 days to back up 1 TB - but I think it's constrained by my local wifi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
