"SmartSheet has become an essential part of my workflow"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I’ve been using SmartSheet for 4–5 years to coordinate projects across multiple departments, and I have to say the experience has been surprisingly positive. It has gone through several upgrades over time. What I like most is the combination of a spreadsheet-style interface and automation features — it’s like using Excel, but with a brain that understands workflow.

The ability to add comments, attach documents, track changes, organise tasks, and send notifications makes collaboration much easier. I especially appreciate that everyone on the team can see real-time progress without the need for endless email threads.

Overall, SmartSheet has become an essential tool for organising work and facilitating communication within the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The interface design could be improved a bit, but that’s mostly a matter of personal preference, so it doesn’t really affect my overall impression or rating of the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Project Management with Smartsheet’s Intuitive Interface"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What I like best about Smartsheet is its user-friendly interface and intuitive design. Even though I’m not PMP-certified, I find it very easy to build, track, and manage complex projects. The platform allows me to visualize timelines, assign responsibilities, and follow progress without needing deep technical or project management expertise. It truly simplifies project coordination and keeps everything organized in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The navigation within columns can sometimes be distracting compared to Excel. Whenever I need to check specific details or analyze data more closely, I often end up exporting the sheet to Excel to do it there. Ideally, Smartsheet should allow for a smoother and more flexible in-platform data review experience, so everything can be done directly without the need for exporting. "Versatile and Intuitive, but Formula Building Needs Simplifying"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I truly love how versatile it is. It suits all of our information management needs and has become our one stop shop for multiple departments - it has really helped to provide support to all levels of experience and express it in a way that is creative yet intuitive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The formula building can be a bit daunting to begin with. I would love it if there was a more simple formula building function as currently I tend to visit the community support section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Collaboration for Project Management Teams"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet is straightforward to use and features an intuitive, user-friendly interface. I work with multiple sheets every day, and I appreciate being able to share them with both customers and coworkers while controlling their access permissions. This functionality helps me keep my projects on track and minimizes mistakes or the confusion that can come from too many people being involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I find it challenging to adjust the size of rows and columns, and I wish there were an option to do so more easily. Additionally, starting a new sheet from a blank template is not very straightforward for me. I find it much simpler to create a new sheet by duplicating an existing Smartsheet. "Great for Basic Use, Needs Excel-Like Shortcuts"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I appreciate that Smartsheet acts as a dynamic, updated online tool that avoids the need to resend Excel files after every update. I love how it maintains some of the keyboard shortcuts from Excel, making certain tasks intuitive. I find the reminder feature invaluable for managing long-term tasks, sending me email alerts when needed. Adding notes to lines is intuitive, allowing multiple collaborators to update with timestamps, enhancing teamwork. The affordability and utility of basic features are ideal for our small sales team, making it a practical choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I find it challenging that Smartsheet's keyboard shortcuts differ from Microsoft Excel, particularly with basic functions like copying and pasting. This inconsistency can be frustrating, especially since I'm used to Excel's interface. Additionally, the limitation on copying and pasting only 500 rows at a time is problematic for my work, especially after an acquisition that increased the number of parts we manage. Also, the control functions for actions like cut and paste aren't always aligned with Excel, which complicates my workflow since I frequently use these features. "Smartsheet: A Great Collaboration Tool with Significant Advantages Over Excel Sheets in OneDrive"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet offers ease of implementation and seamless integration with ETL software. It’s a reliable platform that supports efficient workflows and collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Sharing content with individuals who don’t have a license can be challenging. Unlike MS Excel and OneDrive, Smartsheet requires a license, which limits accessibility for non-licensed users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The next step towards total data organization"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

In my role as an insurance agent, I rely on Smartsheet daily to make updates as new appetites and insurance programs are introduced. Smartsheet has become our primary tool because its ribbons, column headers, and the recently updated vertical sheet navigation on the left side make editing tasks flow seamlessly.

Even if I go some time without accessing certain sheets—like 'Program Appetite Guide', 'New Business Prospects', 'Carrier Contact List', or the various client claim file sheets, each with their own unique content and layout—I find it easy to get back up to speed. Within just a few minutes, I can reacquaint myself with any differences. Smartsheet receives frequent updates, and each one brings new features while preserving the aspects that set it apart from a standard Excel spreadsheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The permissions required to edit or add new columns sometimes restrict my ability to make changes that I would normally handle during a typical workday. This often means I have to rely on teammates who might not be in the office or actively using Smartsheet at that moment. Additionally, it seems that columns do not retain their resized widths from previous sessions, and any adjustments I make are not saved—unless there is a setting I am missing. This results in extra time spent preparing the sheet before I can actually review the data.

Finally, while this is a minor complaint, I find it a bit discouraging to create a new spreadsheet from scratch. My ideas often don't fit any of the available template suggestions, such as forms, reports, grids, dashboards, or timelines. As a result, I usually end up reusing the same sheet, which can cause the data to become cluttered and overused. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Tool to Use for Companies"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The reason I gave smartsheet a 10/10 recommendation is because it helpful to me and my team that I work with. It let the team see the task each member is working on from start to finish. With everything is in one place, easy to see, and keep tracks of everything, the team is able to stay organized, act fast, and never lose track of a task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

One thing that I dislike about smartsheet would be the user interface. When I'm using my laptop or a smaller monitor, I'm not to fully see the end of the column with the scroll bar all the way to the right. Also when you type more than 5-6 words on the last column of the smartsheet, the words are cut off, even when you are scrolling all the way to the right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Everything you need in one place and easy to navigate"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I've been using Smartsheet daily for over a year now, and it has become my go-to project management tool. The Gantt chart feature is intuitive and easy to implement, making it simple to visualize timelines and dependencies. I especially appreciate the ability to save custom templates, which streamlines the setup process for new projects with similar deliverables.

The Card view is another standout feature—it provides a high-level overview of tasks in a format that caters to different team preferences. Additionally, the Dashboard functionality is user-friendly and incredibly helpful for creating a centralized overview and quick navigation to related sheets.

What truly sets Smartsheet apart from other tools are its automation capabilities. The ability to set automatic reminders for to-do list items, along with a wide range of customizable automations, makes organizing and managing information seamless. The extensive library of templates is also a major plus, allowing teams to hit the ground running with minimal setup time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

When I first started using Smartsheet there was some struggle with setting up workspaces correctly & easily selecting the correct template for my needs. This was overcome quickly & a minor inconvenience. I truly have no other complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet: A Game-Changer for Law Firm Operations"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet completely changed that. It allows us to build customized dashboards, automate repetitive tasks, and track performance metrics in real time — all in one central, organized place. I can instantly see the status of every project, monitor KPIs across departments, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks. The transparency and visibility it provides have improved both efficiency and communication firm-wide.

The ability to create automations and reminders has drastically reduced missed deadlines and manual follow-ups. Templates for onboarding, case tracking, and marketing initiatives have made our internal processes faster and more consistent. Plus, the integration options (especially with our CRM and document management systems) make Smartsheet even more powerful for law firm operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I have not yet found anything that I dislike about Smartsheet. It has been very easy to navigate and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
