jQuery UI consists of GUI widgets, visual effects, and themes implemented using HTML, CSS, and jQuery. jQuery UI is great for building UI interfaces for the webpages.

The jQuery UI accordion beforeActivate event is used to trigger before an accordion panel is activated. The accordion beforeActivate event accepts two values that are listed below.

  • event: It represents the event for the slider widget.
  • ui: It is of an object type value. It contains four types of properties that are given below:
    • newHeader: It represents the header that was just activated.
    • oldHeader: It represents the header that was just deactivated.
    • newPanel: It represents the panel that was just activated.
    • oldPanel: It represents the panel that was just deactivated.

Syntax:

Initialize the accordion with the beforeActivate callback.

$( ".selector" ).accordion({
     beforeActivate: function( event, ui ) {}
});

Bind an event listener to the accordionbeforeActivate event.

$( ".selector" ).on(
    "accordionbeforeActivate",
    function( event, ui ) {}
);
