In 2013, Bit World Investments founded AEX. Since then, for the past nine years, AEX has grown to become one of the most well-known crypto brokers in the world. AEX was, originally, a transaction matchmaker, but it has grown to become a global crypto-management provider. According to the broker, it advocates for “stable asset appreciation” and safe investments.

The stats on AEX are impressive, particularly its history in an industry that can be quite volatile. According to the company, AEX has over one million cumulative users, and it offers more than 300 trading pairs. In 2019, AEX introduced a crypto loan service, as well as management services to support debt-swap functions. Partners of AEX include Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, AMB Crypto, Beinga, BeInCrypto, Btok, and Decrypt.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Specialized Digital Financial Platform
  • Rich Trading Pairs
  • Hold Compliance License
  • Nine-year Crypto Exchange
  • Loan Service Offered
  • Longevity In Industry
  • Unique Features Set AEX Apart
  • Support 350+ Tokens Trading
  • Support 70+ Financial Products

Cons

  • Few Educational Resources
  • Might Be Unregulated

Recommended For

Cryptocurrency trading isn’t exactly the most stable profession out there, so you want to make sure that you have some knowledge base before you sign up with a broker like AEX. There aren’t many resources for education with this broker, so make sure that you have at least some experience before you sign up.

Top Features

  • Financial Opportunities. AEX offers features like AEX Earn, slot auctions, mining markets, and more financial features that you don’t find with other brokers.

  • Longevity. As aforementioned, one of the best features of this broker is the fact that it has been around for nearly a decade. That has allowed it to have a global footprint, which not many other crypto brokers can say they possess.

  • Web Platforms. For its traders, AEX offers two proprietary trading platforms. One is the standard platform, which is basic and geared towards traders who are not advanced (yet). This platform has simple features like prices, an order book, and a trading history. The second platform is far more advanced and geared for experienced traders. Traders can access 50+ technical indicators, drawing tools, and analytical features. The advanced platform takes up the entire screen, and it is full of high-tech features.

  • Low Fees. Out of other brokers in the industry, AEX provides some of the lowest fees. Trade fees can reach as low as 0.10% per trade. Considering that a lot of brokers’ fees start at 0.25%, that number is significantly lower.

  • Loan Offers. This will be discussed more in the sections below, but AEX offers low-interest loans with a time range of up to twelve months. Again, this is a feature you don’t see everyday with other brokers.

Compliance & Regulation

According to AEX, it is regulated by FINRA, a U.S. body, but a search in BrokerCheck on FINRA’s website revealed no results for “AEX Exchange.”

Reliability & Security

According to FXEmpire, AEX is a “reliable…trusted” exchange that has managed to make it years without any major security incidents. Reddit and other social media platforms provide good resources for determining whether AEX is reliable, as people have posted about both good and bad experiences with this broker.

User Experience

Judging from user ratings on other review sites, it seems as though AEX is viewed in a (mostly) above-average light. Here are some of the star ratings and their sources:

  • CryptoWisser: 3.5/5

  • Revain: 3.4/5

  • Facebook: 5/5

  • RebateKingFX: 2.1/5

  • CashBackForex: 2.1/5

Final Thoughts

While its regulation is murky, AEX, at least as far as features go, seems as though it provides innovations that other brokers don’t. Do your own research into the company and think carefully before deciding whether you want to trade with AEX.
