You've faced rejection in networking. How can you turn it into a strength for your professional resilience?

Rejection can sting, but it's a powerful teacher in networking. To transform it into strength:

  • Reflect on feedback: Consider any constructive criticism and use it to refine your approach.

  • Widen your network: Use this as an opportunity to explore new connections outside your usual circle.

  • Stay persistent: Persistence shows character and can eventually open the right doors.

How have you used rejection to bolster your professional journey?

I always say that there are 2 types of people in this world: those who are deflated by the word "No," and those who are motivated by it. You need to decide which one you are. Possessing the resilience of having armadillo skin will take you far in life, in every aspect! As homework: after each rejection, take time to reflect on the experience. Be optimistic, identify what went well, and consider what could be improved. This self-awareness will help you refine your approach and become more effective in future endeavors. Controlling your thoughts is the most crucial tool when dealing with rejection!!

One of the important aspects of sales is to take well a rejection. Use this idea in networking and try to connect to the next person. Try to understand why the rejection happened. Is it because I have nothing to offer, it is because there are too less connection points, is it because I look totally inexpressive ?
