🆕 #VQEG Column From May 5–9, 2025, the VQEG – Video Quality Experts Group plenary meeting took place at Meta HQ in Menlo Park, gathering around 150 participants from 26 countries. Key highlights: 🌍 The start of the SOGAI initiative on assessing GenAI-generated content, aiming to standardize subjective testing methodologies and objective metrics. 🔎 Advances from the Immersive Media Group (IMG) towards the ITU-T Rec. P.IXC for evaluating QoE in immersive interactive communication systems. Leadership update: Marta Orduna Cortillas (Nokia XR Lab, Spain) was appointed vice-chair of IMG. 📊 Updates from the SAM group on statistical analysis methods for subjective and objective testing, ensuring robustness and reliability of QoE studies.
