Last month, AEG Presents, in partnership with the Save The Music Foundation and the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC), hosted the 3rd Annual Remix The Industry event that took place October 16th & 17th in NYC.
The two-day event took place at Bowery Presents venue The Racket NYC and Power Station at Berklee NYC, which brought together leading music organizations, executives, artists, and educators to connect with more than 70 middle and high school students from Save The Music’s J Dilla Music Technology programs. The goal: to inspire and empower the next generation of creators by opening pathways into music, live entertainment, and creative industries.
Highlights included:
Backstage Tour: Led by Bridget Pilipe, General Manager at Racket NYC, offering an inside look at venue operations, lighting, and audio.
Industry Panel: Moderated by Willie “Prophet” Stiggers and featuring Twana Simmons (AEG Presents), Dante Dipasquale (Vice President Talent, AEG Presents/The Bowery Presents), TT Torrez, Swaggy Sie (Sirius XM), Chanel Rae Pettaway (The Legion Media Group), and artist DJ Drewski. Panelists shared career insights and answered student questions.
Live Performance: Belongó – The Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble energized the room with a performance celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Beat-Making Workshop: Facilitated by We Make Noise, students created original Latin-inspired tracks. Promise Academy earned BOSE headphones for the top beat.
Festival Design Challenge: Students teamed up to design and pitch their dream music festival to an AEG Presents panel, leaving with AEG swag bags and real-world feedback.

Day Two: Power Station at Berklee NYC - Day two took place at Power Station at Berklee NYC, where Betsie Becker (Executive Director, Berklee NYC) and Henry Donahue (Executive Director, Save The Music) welcomed industry leaders from Splice, Warner Chappell, AEG Presents, and the NYC Department of Education.

Industry Panel: Featuring Annemarie Andrucyk (Director Human Resources, AEG Presents/The Bowery Presents), Willie “Prophet” Stiggers (BMAC), Paul Thompson (NYCDOE Arts Office), and Ebony Howard (ELMA Philanthropies), moderated by Paulina Vo (The Digilogue).
Breakout Discussions: Students, educators, and industry professionals collaborated on strategies to fund and implement student-led creative projects, facilitated by Ebony Howard (ELMA Philanthropies), Twana Simmons (DEI Business Partner, AEG Presents), and Leilani Alvarez (Human Resource Specialist, AEG Presents).
AEG Presents continues to expand career pathways through initiatives like Backstage Pass and the College Connection Program, launched in 2022. Collectively, these programs have impacted over 500 students nationwide, including 150+ Save The Music participants.
