This week, we attended the #NORDSummit, hosted by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), where our Chief Medical Officer and Head of R&D, Dr. Sarah Gheuens, joined Golie-Lorenzo Green, a sickle cell warrior and advocate, to share learnings from co-creating the RISE UP clinical program in #SickleCellDisease with the community. The session highlighted what it means to truly center patients in research: ✨ Going beyond a rubber stamp, by engaging patients before the first protocol is even drafted and keeping their voices central from design through to awareness and communication. 💬 Showing the impact of patient feedback through transparency about how input was used, and when it couldn’t be, why. That honesty built trust and lasting partnerships. 🤝 Proving what’s possible when science and community rise up together. Thank you to NORD for hosting another impactful conference and inviting us to share our experience and insights with the #RareDisease community.

Our team had the privilege of joining the #SCDAA2025 National Convention last week, a powerful gathering of #SickleCell warriors, advocates, clinicians, and partners. Every year, this event feels less like a conference and more like a reunion – a reminder of the strength, resilience, and power of this community driving progress in care and advocacy. During the convention, we: ✨ Met with partners to explore new ways to support innovation that reflects real community needs 🧬 Presented on the potential of pyruvate kinase (PK) activation in sickle cell disease 🎙️ Hosted and recorded an episode of “Cheat Codes: A Sickle Cell Podcast” exploring how sickle cell disease is portrayed in the media, highlighting how authentic storytelling raises awareness, reduces stigma, and celebrates resilience ❤️ Most importantly, we listened, learned, and celebrated the voices and stories that continue to guide and inspire us. Thank you to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. — National (SCDAA), Regina Hartfield, SCDAA President and CEO, and her team for another inspiring, educational, and empowering event. We left energized and are already looking forward to next year. #SickleCellAwareness #SCDAAEmpowered

As we close out #HispanicHeritageMonth, we’re proud to spotlight Marvilla Asencio Moreira, PharmD, RPh, a Manager on our Clinical Supply Chain team and an active member of our LatinX Employee Resource Group (ERG). Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Marvilla shares how important it is to celebrate her roots and heritage – and how the LatinX ERG provides space for connection and community. Over the past two years, Marvilla has brought her culture to life by organizing salsa dance lessons led by an instructor and sharing classic Puerto Rican dishes and artwork. These activities created meaningful opportunities for colleagues to learn, connect, and celebrate together. We are grateful to Marvilla and all our ERG members who help foster belonging, openness, and cultural appreciation across our company. #InclusionMatters

We were thrilled to host students from Princeton University’s Biotech Group at our Cambridge headquarters for an interactive panel and networking event. Our Chief Medical Officer and Head of R&D, Sarah Gheuens, was joined by Audra Boscoe, Kelly Kemp, Abdulafeez (Deji) Oluyadi and Michael McVay to share perspectives on career paths, day-to-day work, and the many ways biotech professionals contribute to advancing science. During the discussion, we emphasized that progress in biotech depends not only on scientific breakthroughs but also on the people behind them – those willing to share knowledge, learn from different perspectives, and build bridges across disciplines. Careers in biotech can take many shapes and turns, but the constant is advancing science that changes lives, the very impact we’re all striving to achieve. #BiotechCareers #STEM #STEMCareers

This week, our team came together for our annual Fall Gathering – a special time to reconnect, recognize our achievements, and reflect on the “why” behind the work we do. As part of this tradition, we proudly joined the Cooley's Anemia Foundation’s Anemia Foundation Annual Care Walk, standing alongside the community to raise awareness and support for people living with #Thalassemia and their loved ones. We’re grateful to have walked together in support of this important cause, reminding us that the impact of our work extends far beyond the lab and office walls. 📸 Check out some of our favorite highlights from the day! #CAFCareWalk25 #ThalassemiaAwareness
