At AIISC, we often pursue research on challenging real-world problems defined in collaborations with domain/industry experts, reflecting real-world complexity, evaluated with real-world data. This is the reason we have significantly above-average IP generation, real-world/industry deployments, and/or commercializations (including startups based on licensing the technology our research teams develop). Here is an example of how this starts. Check out the summary review for a paper accepted in a conference with a 14% acceptance rate - read the "Official Review" at the top and the reasons for acceptance(at the end, the review wishes more examples were presented, but then there is only so much space!).
