✈️ 📷An Anduril Industries Anvil effector, part of U.S. Northern Command’s Counter Unmanned Aerial System Fly-Away Kit, flies over the test area at Eglin Air Force Base during the Falcon Peak experiment. During multiple demonstrations, an aggressor #UAS flew over the range while an Anvil intercepted the threat. Falcon Peak is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and USNORTHCOM C-UAS experiment focused on detecting, identifying, tracking, and mitigating UAS incursions at military installations, and serves as an opportunity to gauge effectiveness of low-collateral defeat options within the U.S. Details: https://lnkd.in/g-42rVXE #USAF #sUAS #defense #experiment (U.S. Air Force photo by Kelley J. JIATF 401 was recently established, aligning authorities and synchronizing efforts across the Department to rapidly deliver Joint C-sUAS capabilities to #warfighters at home and abroad, to defeat adversary threats, and promote sovereignty over national airspace. #sUAS #defense #military
U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, who will command the Joint Interagency Task Force 401, speaks at a JIATF 401 meeting at the Air & Space Forces Association, 2025 Air, Space & Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Md., Sept. 24. The discussion was an opportunity for Department of the Air Force and JIATF 401 leadership to address with industry the JIATF 401 effort and partnership with PEO Electronic Systems, Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems program of record. JIATF 401 was recently established, aligning authorities and synchronizing efforts across the Department to rapidly deliver Joint C-sUAS capabilities to warfighters at home and abroad, to defeat adversary threats, and promote sovereignty over national airspace. BG Ross addressed countering UAS as both a warfighting and homeland defense imperative as we must keep pace with this growing challenge to maintain lethality on the battlefield while protecting American citizens and critical infrastructure. Taking a whole-of-government approach, establishing JIATF 401 allows the Department of War to execute capability development with expedited delivery timelines ensuring the best in breed of technology is received by American warfighters. 🖥️The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center has created a new enterprise-wide blanket purchase agreement to deliver consistent, cost-effective base operations support information technology, or BOS-IT, services across United States Air Force installations. The agreement streamlines procurement through pre-approved vendors, while allowing bases to tailor services to their specific mission needs and technological requirements. BOS-IT services include legacy infrastructure and systems that support installation’s communication operations, cable, antenna and microwave systems, telephony, and uninterruptible power systems. #ICYMI The Air Force recently wrapped up the DASH 2 experiment which explored how artificial intelligence #Ai can help operators make faster, smarter decisions in complex battlespaces. The Decision Advantage Sprint for Human-Machine Teaming, or DASH, results showed that machines produced recommendations in less than 10 seconds and generated 30 times more options than human-only teams. This gives commanders more courses of action for operational execution, identifying risk factors, opportunity gains/losses and more. By combining human judgment with AI, operators will be able to make faster, more informed decisions in future contested environments. Learn more about DASH 2 and how these experiments are helping inform the future of #warfighting at https://lnkd.in/gYgtVxYs (U.S. Air Force photos by Deb Henley) #artificialintelligence #sprint #humanmachine

✈️Modernization, readiness and a continued focus on taking care of people are what the United States Air Force and U.S. Space Force need to do to maintain air and space superiority today and into the future, said Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink during his keynote address at the Air, Space and Cyber conference. “The challenge is, how do we make sure (Airmen and Guardians) have the tools at the mass and scale they need to be successful. If we, as leadership, are not doing everything we can to support you, moving fast and being innovative, then you need to tell us because we will not be successful without that,” he said. https://lnkd.in/gdYmpq4v #airpower #ASC2025 #USAF #SECAF #Defense Air Force photo by Andy Morataya
