  • SOAP in action! After successfully demonstrating its capabilities in Space, the first commercial European satellite in Low Earth Orbit for detecting space objects and debris has officially entered into service! Data from SOAP, delivered to CNES will be integrated into the French national catalogue, a key tool to assess collision risks that also alerts operators so they can perform avoidance manoeuvres. Many thanks to CNES for trusting us with this new #France2030 contract! In the image, the Airbus-built instrument on the satellite, developed by U-Space is collecting Space Surveillance & Tracking (SST) data to help make space safer. SOAP detects debris and other objects in orbit to improve our understanding of the space environment and support faster decision-making to protect space assets.

  • With Russian drones recently crossing into Polish airspace and fighter jets regularly testing the Eastern flank, Europe is now taking its security into its own hands. Earlier this year, #NATO allies made a historic pledge to hit a 5% defence spending target within a decade! This "quantum leap" will supercharge the EU's "Readiness 2030" plan, which outlines several priority areas to bolster European defence capabilities and industrial base. At Airbus, we are ready to provide sovereign solutions to help build a stronger, more self-reliant Europe.

  • The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) 🇹🇭 has ordered an Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Plus (MRTT+), the A330neo-based evolution of the combat-proven, aerial refuelling and transport aircraft #A330MRTT. The A330 MRTT+ for Thailand will be equipped with both the hose-and-drogue, and a boom, as refuelling systems. The A330 MRTT+’s advanced capabilities will be instrumental in securing Thailand’s sovereignty, providing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), and supporting Medical Evacuation (#MEDEVAC) missions. In parallel with this new order, Airbus will further strengthen its collaboration with Thai Aviation Industries (TAI). Both companies have signed an expanded Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to include in-country maintenance support for the RTAF’s A330 MRTT+. The expanded MoU also marks an important step in Airbus’ long-term strategy to align with the Kingdom’s “Make in Thailand” policy. The aircraft is scheduled to enter into military conversion at the A330 MRTT Centre in Getafe, Spain, in 2026, with final delivery to customer in 2029.
