  • Myth Buster: Day Treatment ❌ Myth: Day Treatment is only for “troubled” kids who can’t handle regular school. ✅ Truth: Day Treatment is for children who need extra support to develop coping skills, manage emotions, and build social confidence. It’s a structured, therapeutic environment where kids can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially while staying connected to their families and communities. What You’ll See in the Classroom: ◽Kids practicing emotional regulation ◽Group activities to strengthen social skills ◽Supportive staff helping children navigate challenges 💡 Tip: Encourage patience, consistency, and collaboration with staff. Children grow best when everyone works together. Interested in enrolling your child? Families can reach out to Alexander Youth Network to learn more about the program and start the referral process. Day Treatment is about building skills for life, not labeling children. • 🔹 Celebrating 18+ Years of Volunteer Service: Beth Jones 🔹 Beth Jones has been a cornerstone of Alexander Youth Network’s volunteer community for nearly two decades. Her roles have ranged from clerical support and tutoring to gardening, decorating, and mentoring as a Lunch Buddy. Her connection to Alexander spans even further—nearly 30 years as a staff member and a family legacy of service that began with her mother. 💡 Beth’s reflections on volunteering: 🔹“Catching fish in the stream with my 12-year-old lunch buddy! I had a dress on that day. Ruined my shoes, but it was worth it.” 🔹 “I love Alexander. It's a part of me. I care deeply about the mission and have immense respect for the staff who work patiently and creatively alongside kids.” 🔹“Volunteering helped me become a better administrator—I did the same work I asked volunteers to do.” 🔹 “If you can give a couple of hours a week, just try it for six months. My bet is you’ll stay much longer. You’ll be supported every step of the way.” 👏 Thank you, Beth, for your unwavering commitment, compassion, and creativity. Your legacy continues to inspire our staff, volunteers, and the children we serve.

  • 🌟 It's Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept 15 - Oct 15 🌟 At Alexander Youth Network, we take pride in celebrating the cultures, voices, and stories that shape our community. Today, we honor Sandy Pizarro, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, MBA, our Chief People & Culture Officer, for her reflections during Hispanic Heritage Month. ✨ A guiding quote Sandy lives by: “Preservation of one’s own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures.” – Cesar Chavez ✨ What Hispanic Heritage Month means to her: “In keeping with my favorite quote above, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time for reflection, not only for reflecting on the pride instilled in me about my culture since childhood, but also reflection on current societal events that remind us of the importance of valuing and respecting all cultures and communities.” – Sandy Pizarro For Sandy, this month is both personal and purposeful. It is a reminder of the strength she draws from her heritage and the responsibility to ensure others feel seen, valued, and respected for who they are. As a leader, she carries that belief into every aspect of her work, creating spaces where differences are celebrated and diversity becomes a source of connection. Thank you, Sandy, for sharing your journey and for your unwavering commitment to uplifting our staff, children, and families. Your leadership embodies the true spirit of inclusion and compassion. #HispanicHeritageMonth #AlexanderYouthNetwork #Inclusion #Culture #Leadership
