March 22 was National Rehabilitation Counselor Appreciation Day. After over 47 years in this profession, I have to say it has been a joy to work as a rehabilitation counselor. The profession has been great for me and thousands of others. I want to congratulate and celebrate all Rehabilitation Counselors and the difference they make daily in the lives of others. We are now in a challenging time and as rehabilitation counselors we can continue to make a difference and position the people we serve for independence, excellent employment and full inclusion!

This historic civil rights legislation made foundational changes to access in employment, housing, communications, public buildings, education, and many other areas of American society.
