“I’m always blown away by how much of a sense producers have in their head for how things are going, because that’s where they’ve kept it for 30, 40 years... But I’ve also seen how much of a difference it makes to be able to pull up that exact number in 30 seconds: How much did we spend on tractor repairs last year? Does it actually make more sense to buy a new one?” On this week’s episode of the Cattleman U Podcast, Ambrook's own Katie Ellig joined her dad, Mike, for a father-daughter conversation about ranching, profitability, and the future of the industry. Together, they dig into: 🌿 Why diversification matters for long-term resilience ✨ Rethinking the traditional ranching model 🌾 Practical ways to connect conservation, cash flow, and creativity It’s a look at how ranchers can connect their instincts with real data to guide everyday decisions and long-term strategy. Ambrook’s own Haley Potter joined Jared Sorensen on his Profitable Regeneration Masterclass Series to talk about ranch finances. Haley knows what she’s talking about. She and her family split their time between their ranch in Montana and a seasonal cow camp. She understands firsthand how much time and energy finances can take away from the work that really matters. With Jared, she walked through how to simplify the books with modern tools, where to find resources that grow profitability, and how to plan for the future so operations don’t just survive — they prosper. We’re so proud to have Haley representing Ambrook and sharing her knowledge with the ranching community! https://lnkd.in/gsPwCVqa

Most financial software assumes you’re at a desk with a big monitor and perfect WiFi. But our customers are usually out in the field with a phone or tablet, or squeezing in bookkeeping after a long day’s work. We designed Ambrook for that reality. And Jeff Anders, our co-founder and Head of Design, has been fundamental in shaping that: “I’m really drawn to legacy spaces. Farming, manufacturing, trucking, construction. People aren’t doing things the way their parents did, and design can help them adapt.” From the start, Jeff has helped build more than a design system. He’s created a culture where design informs everything we do, from making financial tools usable in the field to telling the stories of farmers and ranchers with respect and depth. “My responsibilities have expanded into people ops, culture, events, recruiting — all these things beyond the pixels. The best designer founders bring that design sensibility to everything.” This new Designer Fund profile dives into Jeff’s journey and Ambrook’s philosophy: why design fluency matters in overlooked industries, how it builds trust with customers, and why it’s central to building lasting financial infrastructure for American agriculture. We’re proud to see Jeff’s leadership highlighted. And we’re even prouder to see design recognized as the foundation for building a prosperous future in agriculture and beyond. We’re looking for more people who care about this kind of work, who want to bring empathy and craft to building better tools for America’s family-run businesses. If you’re interested in joining our team, reach out.
We went behind the scenes with Designer Fund to show how design works at Ambrook. Design is more than me, Ali, and Calvin – it's in every part of our culture, product, spaces, and events. Thanks to Ben Blumenrose, Robyn Park, and Adam Dixon for working on this story together! Want to be part of the defining brand for ag and industry? We just opened new Design Engineer and Frontend roles – peep our careers page.

We’re so proud to partner with Montana Farm Bureau Federation! Together, we’re bringing more financial tools and education to Montana’s farmers and ranchers. Through our partnership, MFBF members will now receive free access to a farm finance course plus a free subscription to Ambrook Pro through January 31. The course starts December 3. It’s designed to help producers kick off 2026 strong with cleaner books, the clearer numbers, the more financial confidence. What the course covers: Accounting 101. What to track, how to organize records, and how to structure financial statements. (Reading a balance sheet can be…a learning curve.) Farm-specific finance situations. From filing a Schedule F to setting up a chart of accounts to separating household and farm expenses. (Because we all know there’s overlap.) Smarter business decisions. Applying bookkeeping basics to interpret financials, spot opportunities, and guide decisions. Know what’s making money, what’s not, and where to invest next. This partnership helps us expand the benefits of Ambrook Education, so American farms and ranches can build the financial know-how to not just survive in today’s world, but prosper. If you’re part of an organization interested in partnering with us and expanding financial education to your members, reach out.

Design at Ambrook is so different than any other tech company. Our product designer Calvin K. covered learnings "Designing for the Field" after joining the team from Stripe. The farmers, ranchers, and owner-operators we work with have unique challenges that demand top-notch interaction design, customer research, and taste. Think spotty internet, mobile work from the truck, legibility in bright sunlight, and grokking financial figures when their hands are full (and probably wearing gloves). I've wanted to tell this story since we started building Ambrook. Thanks to Calvin for this great story! 👉 https://lnkd.in/eQ4XBtRS

At our last retreat, we got the whole company to take 30 minutes and write a post for our blog. It was a creative, inspiring session and led to writing that is outside your normal startup corporate-blog fodder. This piece by Jaclyn C. is one of my favourites - a good dose of Ambrook culture, great writing and a heartfelt message. https://lnkd.in/etkrDr5D

We just updated the "About Ambrook" copy on our job descriptions and it's reminding me all over again why I joined. "In the face of historic heat waves, drought, flooding, supply chain disruptions, water shortages, and pollution, climate impacts are intensifying across industrial America: from farmers facing crop losses, to truckers navigating fuel volatility, to contractors managing material shortages. Evidence shows sustainable practice upgrades deliver financial returns – from water-efficient irrigation to fuel-efficient fleets – but these changes require significant upfront capital and a clear proof of return-on-investment to owner-operators facing tight cashflows and razor-thin margins already. With data scattered across paper records and outdated systems, operators struggle to forecast whether a practice change will improve their bottom line – let alone prove business health to lenders and other funders. Ambrook is solving this chicken-and-egg problem by re-architecting the financial data layer of America's independent businesses. We're replacing unruly paperwork and expensive, archaic tools with an affordable accounting, banking and payments platform that helps operators understand their numbers and access capital for sustainable transitions. Ambrook customers are our economy’s historic backbone and a manifestation of the American Dream. Done right, both financial and environmental sustainability enables these entities to stay independent and resilient in the face of climate-driven volatility. We’re a Series A startup backed by top investors (Thrive Capital, Homebrew, Designer Fund, BoxGroup, and more) and are looking for early team members who are looking to untangle the knotted intersection between American industry and climate." https://lnkd.in/ecfd4SAB
