“Energy security is national security. America’s coastal regions host nearly 40% of our population, and offshore wind offers a direct and effective way to provide these areas with utility-scale energy. This is not just about power—it’s about ensuring that those economic centers remain online amid geopolitical instability or supply chain disruption. When we cede control of our energy future—whether to geopolitical rivals, volatile oil markets, or outdated infrastructure—we weaken our ability to defend American interests at home and abroad.” Offshore wind is a critical component to our nation’s energy system, and without it millions of families will be jeopardized by unreliable energy—limiting economic opportunities and exposing our coasts to everything from extreme weather to attacks on American soil. Important article on how critical offshore wind is to U.S. national security from Commander Kirk Lippold and RealClearEnergy: https://bit.ly/3Fxk36L

Earlier today, ACP joined Fluence in welcoming Senator John Curtis (R-UT) to their battery module manufacturing facility in Tooele County, Utah. Energy tax credits are driving U.S manufacturing and bringing massive economic impacts to the communities in which these facilities reside. Senator Curtis, Fluence, and ACP toured the new manufacturing facility, meeting with the workers to talk about the new types of manufacturing jobs that the facility has created – as well as the innovation and technology that is being produced at the site. Thank you, Senator Curtis for your leadership and meeting with the folks working to create a resilient energy future for the U.S.

For states, an important part of developing clean energy is just attracting projects to your state. Today’s panel with Carter Write from Arizona Commerce Authority, Thomas Maynard from Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Anna Aguilera who previously worked at U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, and ACP VP of State Affairs Sarah Cottrell Propst dove into how Arizona authorities bring new clean energy projects into their state and make the best case for why companies should develop here.
