About us
AMOpportunities equips universities and healthcare providers with the infrastructure needed to expand clinical education. AMO’s vision of accessible, inclusive, and academic clinical training inspired us to create solutions that provides this infrastructure to teaching sites and schools. We began with a vision of quality, accessible and inclusive clinical training. This inspired us to create comprehensive service and software solutions that help medical trainees secure rotations and support hosts and schools to manage them. In staying true to our roots, we provide high-quality support through personalized services. Over the past 11 years, our collaboration with health systems, universities and individual trainees has helped more than 5,500 students and graduates rotate and supported them in finding the clinical training they need to meet their academic and professional goals.

Insightful take! Securing US rotations is a critical step in a student’s clinical journey, and we’re here to help bridge that gap—providing guidance, resources, and support every step of the way so students can focus on building the experience and skills that will set them up for success.
Around July last year, I fell down a research rabbit hole and stumbled across AMOpportunities. As a medical student, the idea of doing my clinical rotations abroad immediately went on my vision board. But being in my third year, I knew I wasn't quite ready. My world was, and still is, built on a foundation of theoretical study and textbooks. So, I’ve been biding my time, waiting for the right moment. Well, that moment felt a lot closer last night. I had the privilege of attending a Q&A webinar with the President of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and it was a massive reality check on what it actually takes to secure a spot in the US residency program. Did you know programs often get 1,000+ applications for just 10 spots? And to survive these many application review, doctors use 'filters'. If you aren't hitting the 250+ mark on USMLE scores or haven't done clinical rotations, they might never even see your hard work. Here are 5 key takeaways for med students who are planning on doing their residency in the US: ~The 250+ Score Goal: Think of your USMLE score as a VIP pass. Without a 250+, that "digital bouncer" might not even let your application into the room. It’s one of the first things they look at to narrow down the crowd. ~ Experience is Non-Negotiable: You need more than three clinical rotations under your belt. If you're still in med school, try for "hands-on" work where you actually touch patients. If you've already graduated, "observerships" (where you watch and learn) are your best bet. ~ The Research "Cheat Code": Research isn't always mandatory, but it’s a total game-changer. It makes you look like a specialist rather than just another student. Plus, it’s actually pretty cool to be on the cutting edge of medicine! ~ Look the Part: First impressions happen before you speak. Your application photo shouldn't be a cropped picture from a wedding or a casual hangout. Put on your lab coat find a plain wall, and look like the doctor you’re becoming. You can even use your LinkedIn professional pictures. Seriously, discard that selfie, Joseph. ~ Play Your Own Game: Don’t just pick a "famous" hospital because everyone else is. Do your homework! Pick a place that actually fits your specific career goals. Don’t just follow the crowd. The webinar actually showed us how to use AMOpportunities to bridge this gap. If you’re looking for a way to secure those US rotations and get coaching through the visa and housing process, it's a great place to start. The road is competitive (and shoutout to Dr. Austin’s cat, Dr. Ginger, for supervising the meeting!), but seeing the path clearly makes the journey feel so much less daunting. The competition is stiff, but the preparation starts now.

👩⚕️Finding a qualified NP preceptor in 2026 looks very different than it did even a few years ago. With growing program enrollment, limited availability, and strict approval requirements, many students are asking the same question: How much should you expect to pay for a preceptor, and when does paying actually make sense? The reality is that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Costs vary based on specialty demand, location, timing, and what is truly involved in securing a compliant clinical placement. In some cases, paying can help protect a student’s timeline. In others, it may not be necessary at all. This article breaks down what influences preceptor costs, what students are really paying for, and how to evaluate the risks and benefits based on your situation. 👉 Read the full article below: https://lnkd.in/gV6m3zFt #NursePractitioner #NPStudent #ClinicalRotations #NPClinical #PreceptorSearch #NPEducation #NPLife #NPSchool #HealthcareEducation #PreceptorLink
