🎉 We're thrilled to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for Atkinson's SR 46 Corridor Improvements Project in San Luis Obispo last week! The event, hosted by Caltrans and the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments - slocog.org marked a significant milestone: the opening of a new four-lane divided highway and realignment of the SR-46 and SR-41 freeways. The new alignment and "Wye" configuration significantly improves the safety of the corridor by utilizing a separator bridge at the 41/46 interchange. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all those involved. 🛣️🚧Atkinson crews have begun construction on the Washington State Department of Transportation SR 509/24th Ave S to S 188th St - New Expressway project. The project extends the existing four-lane SR 509 freeway from the South 188th Street interchange to 24th Avenue South in SeaTac, WA. Project improvements include building approximately 2 miles of the new SR 509 Expressway, constructing 5 new bridges, reconfiguring SR 509 interchanges at South 160th and South 188th Streets, building a new bridge overcrossing at South 192nd Street, and constructing a southbound auxiliary lane on I-5 between SR 516 and South 272nd Street. We're headed to the Sunshine State for this #AtkinsonArchive. In 1989, Atkinson completed the Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida! The 2,600-foot-long, twin-tower, cable-stayed bridge took 4 years to complete and included over 21 miles of cable! The bridge spans the St. Johns River as part of Interstate 295 East Beltway.
