  • Meet Ruthie, one of our incredible Resident Ambassadors at Atria Oakridge! Known for being an energetic, friendly and outgoing force of nature, she is always the first on the dance floor and the heart of every event, bringing joy and connection wherever she goes. Ruthie loves welcoming new neighbors, helping others feel at home and building meaningful connections. Ruthie says it best: “I love being an ambassador because it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, each with their own unique stories, perspectives and experiences to share. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that I love to talk!” We’re so grateful for our ambassadors, who make our communities a warmer, more connected place every day.

  • When Hurricane Michael destroyed Portia’s Florida home, her daughter Danna worried about what would come next. What they found was more than just a safe place to live – it was a community that celebrates Portia’s talents as an artist and creates new friendships while providing the support she needs. “I really like that there are nurses there and there’s a doctor who comes by once a week,” Danna says. “It puts me at ease to know that there are people there in case she needs anything health-wise.” Read how Portia’s journey lead her to thrive at Atria Forest Hills in our Caregiver's Guide blog: http://ms.spr.ly/6046sFvwp

  • Books are better when shared with friends! 📚 Our Page Turners Social Series event was a hit, bringing our resident bookworms together for a mystery book swap, getting in touch with their local public libraries and bookstores, and sharing in some delicious snacks. What has been your favorite read of the year so far? 📸: Atria Tamalpais Creek, Atria on the Hudson, Atria Briarcliff Manor, Atria Draper Place, Atria East Northport, Atria Longmont

  • A big celebration was held at Atria Park of Ann Arbor for Daryl's 101st birthday! When we asked her what 101 years of life is like, she said, "It's been all over the map – I've had good times and bad times. But I'm very grateful to have lived for this long. Life is still fun!" She likes going for rides, being with her kids, reading, sleeping, and of course, ice cream. "There is always time for ice cream," she adds. Join us in wishing Daryl a happy birthday! 🥳

  • Paul's got the beat! Not only is he a wonderful member of the kitchen staff at Atria Maplewood Place, but he's also a professional drummer! He recently brought the community's courtyard to life, transporting his drum set all the way from home to share his talents with residents. "I started banging on pots and pans as a kid before taking lessons and eventually attending Berklee College of Music," he shares. Over the years, Paul has played in all kinds of bands and even does studio work when he can. We are so fortunate when we get to see the amazing hidden talents of our team. Thanks for sharing your music with us, Paul!

  • Every day is a chance to try something new, and with the help of Nora, a member of the Atria Bay Spring Village waitstaff, residents channeled their inner ballerina. Complete with a proper dance class barre, Nora led residents through the five basic ballet positions. What a fun way to practice balance and flexibility! And to that we say, "Brava!" 🩰

  • Residents at Atria Kennebunk had the pleasure of taking a scenic bike ride with the Seacoast Wheelers. "It was fun," shares Meredith, one of the residents who went for a ride. "I met others who shared my interests, and it renewed my love of biking. It brought out the adventurer in me! I can’t wait to do it again." The fresh air, sunshine and wind on their faces left everyone smiling.

  • Mike's servant heart shines at Atria Grapevine. A proud veteran with 27 years of military service, he now leads Bible study three days a week and even helps run the community's monthly town hall meetings. He calls living here “a blessing – absolutely” and says the best part is the family feel, the smiles and the chance to encourage others. "I can’t say enough about this place."

  • In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we savored the flavors of Guatemala. Known as the birthplace of chocolate, Guatemalan cuisine blends Mayan tradition with Spanish influences to create vibrant and tasty dishes. On the menu: tostones, guacamole, enchiladas, refried black beans, with cucumber salad, and tres leches cake. We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month! 📸: Atria Carmichael Oaks, Atria Tarzana, Atria Golden Creek, Atria on Roslyn Harbor, Atria Sugar Land
