Last week, our Brand President, Katie Clark Dills, and VP of Marketing, Chuck Buckingham, traveled to Canada for a memorable multi-office visit that celebrated connection, culture, and community across our franchise network. They began the day at our Markham office, greeting owners, team members, and celebrating their assistant manager's 12 years of service, before spending the day visiting several franchise owners- from a coffee chat with Frank in Aurora, to lunch and an office visit with John in Burlington-Oakville, and wrapping up the evening with Dana and John over a dinner full of laughter, stories, and connection The next morning, they joined the Etobicoke-Mississauga office for their monthly morning meeting, a heartwarming celebration of achievements and birthdays. Our brand president had the honor of awarding a CPH certificate to one of our newer team members and even walked away with some fresh Canadian-logoed apparel! Each stop was a heartfelt reminder of the incredible people and culture that make our Canadian offices so special. Leona, a dog walker at Woofie's of Rochester, NY, had the unfortunate experience of finding a client unresponsive in her home when arriving for the daily dog walk. “The client's pup, Grace, completely confused and scared, was so happy to see her walker arrive,” said owner Jessica Morrow-Gallmon. Leona stepped into action to call Jessica and 911 quickly and stayed until Jessica was able to arrive. The client's family was unable to care for the client's dog, Grace, and we acted quickly, working with the police to ensure Grace wouldn’t end up in a shelter. “I brought Grace home to foster her while the client's family took time to grieve,” Jessica said. Once it was determined that no family would be taking Grace, Jessica, along with her team, worked on a plan to write Grace's story and search for an amazing home for Grace. Jessica reached out to her client list first and set up meet-and-greets for Grace. “We ended up finding an amazing family in my client list to rehome Grace,” Jessica said. “I can't say enough about my amazing team members and their detailed care. Everyone, including Leona, still checks in on Grace. Our bond and love for our clients and their pets continue, and we do the work that most don’t see to ensure they’re safe and cared for.”
