We are excited to share the 2024–25 Avenidas Annual Report. This past year, Avenidas supported thousands of older adults and caregivers through programs, services, and community spaces across the San Francisco Bay Area Mid-Peninsula. With three locations, ten programs, and hundreds of clubs, activities, and events, Avenidas meets people wherever they are on the avenue of aging. Explore this year’s avenues—paved by connection, inclusion, and a shared commitment to ensuring older adults can age with dignity, belonging, and purpose. This week, with our partner Alzheimer's Association of Northern California & Northern Nevada, we were honored to bring Congressman Sam Liccardo and Mountain View Voice to Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center, where they met our caregivers, participants, staff, and heard firsthand about how it takes a village to care for loved ones with dementia and other physical challenges. As California's Medi-Cal program grapples with potential cuts, shining a light on the experiences of caregivers, as well as the health and well-being programs that support them, is essential. https://lnkd.in/gAufxGm2 Thank you also to our partners Hearts and Minds Activity Center and Sourcewise.

Our new conversation series, Avenidas Smart Talks, Warm Hearts, could not have asked for a more inspiring first speaker. Dean Tiffany Steinwert from Stanford’s Office for Religious and Spiritual Life helped ground us in these trying times and invited us to think, and rethink, spiritual wellness. Deep gratitude for Tiffany Steinwert Huge thanks to Stanford University Stanford Office of Community Engagement for the partnership that makes this series possible. Thank you Megan Swezey Fogarty - you are amazing. Kristina Lugo, LCSW Michelle T. Shinseki, MA Yadira Aldana Maureen Breen

At Avenidas, community care is at the heart of what we do. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our neighbors. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, some federal employees are furloughed or working without pay and many individuals and families are temporarily not receiving their CalFresh (SNAP) benefits -- leaving them struggling to put food on the table. Avenidas is partnering with local food closets to support our neighbors in need during this difficult time. We’re inviting individuals, teams, and local businesses to join us by donating non-perishable, unexpired, nutritious food at any of our three Avenidas locations. #OneAvenidas #SouthPaloAltoFoodCloset #CommunityImpact #FoodDrive #FoodSecurity
