Last week at the #FTLive Mining and Metals Summit in London, Baker Hughes' Tom Harper joined industry leaders to explore the future of mining. From distributed extraction models to enhanced heap leaching, we discussed how innovation is already improving recovery and efficiency. The event also served as a timely reminder of the opportunity for collaboration across the segment. Partnerships are the cornerstone of sustainable energy development—especially in mining, where unlocking marginal reserves and scaling digital transformation requires shared risk, open innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. Read Tom's thoughts below 👇. #WeAreBakerHughes #Mining #MiningAndMetals #Innovation
It was great to attend the #FTLive Mining and Metals summit in London last week. - Excellent panel on “what does mine of the future look like”. There is lots that can be done now to improve recovery and efficiency, alongside having an eye on tomorrow. In particular, we can see distributed and smaller scale models emerging to address the critical minerals crunch. E.g. extraction from produced oil and gas waters, or enhanced heap leaching techniques. It was great to share the stage with Mikko Keto Paula Cousins Matthew Pearson Joachim Braun to share thoughts. - We heard from Dominic Raab, on the geopolitics of critical minerals, and that future conflicts could be over these resources and their processing. A stark reminder… - Some feedback - I’m lucky enough to work across a number of sectors, and think there is more of a tendency to want to “own” in mining than in others; sometimes limiting commercial and technical adaptation to what’s gone before. To unlock more marginal reserves and the viability of future projects, greater risk sharing and adoption of technologies will be essential. This is evolution not revolution, and some positive signs that this ownership mindset is changing across the sector… hopefully fast enough to meet the demand! Big thank you to the #FinancialTimes for putting on a great show. #wearebakerhughes #mining #miningandmetals #Innovation

This past month, our teams across the globe came together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and impactful contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community. From Carnival celebrations and mentorship sessions to cultural knowledge-sharing, dance, music, and volunteer events, our teams embraced opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together. This year, we also highlighted Latin America’s innovative energy sector, from Paraguay’s hydropower at the Itaipu Dam to Costa Rica’s leadership in geothermal energy and sustainability—showcasing creativity and resilience throughout Latin America. Our commitment to community, diversity, inclusion, and belonging is reflected in the work of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). This month, the LatinX ERG played a central role in our celebrations, helping to create a welcoming space where employees can connect, share experiences, and support one another. Thank you to everyone who joined us to recognize, celebrate, and honor the vibrant contributions of our Hispanic and Latino colleagues, partners, and communities. Together, we continue to build a workplace where everyone feels valued, included, and inspired. 🔗 Learn more about our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging here: https://lnkd.in/gRQQn8FQ #HispanicHeritageMonth #Diversity #Inclusion #Belonging #ERGs #CommunityImpact #WeAreBakerHughes
