The Ballard and Traylor Bros., Inc. team had so much fun this weekend volunteering at the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington STEM Day event at the Oregon State Fair and Exposition Center! Ballard was one of over 70 booths celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and introducing kids to all the possibilities of a career in STEM. Special thanks to Girl Scout Nora Brown, who helped the Ballard team promote the STEM Day event on KOIN News and assisted with the bridge build activity at the STEM Day event. Whether it was trying on a dive hat and dry suit, building a cable stay bridge piece by piece, or learning more about how barges are used to build bridges in real life, we hope we inspired the next generation of engineers and can't wait to come back next year!

We’re honored to take part not only today, on Veterans Day, but throughout the season as we give back to the military families and communities who have given so much. If this initiative resonates with you and you'd like to sponsor a wreath, the deadline is November 28. Supporting Infrastructure Assessments with Precision and Partnership At Ballard, we believe in working and partnering with our clients to deliver innovative, reliable solutions that meet real-world challenges. Our Robotic Survey Division recently mobilized from our Washougal Home Office to support the Farmer’s Irrigation District in Oregon’s Hood River Valley; an organization committed to sustainable agriculture and responsible water resource management. Using our Deep Trekker DT340 remotely operated crawler, the team inspected 1,000 feet of large-diameter conveyance tunnel, gathering critical data to help ensure the long-term reliability of the District’s infrastructure. These bi-annual inspections are more than routine; they’re essential to supporting the environmental and economic vitality of the region. This work is a powerful example of how innovation, teamwork, and precision come together to protect what matters most—our people, our communities, and our shared future. At Ballard, we don’t just deliver infrastructure. We build trusted partnerships. And we’re proud to do it as one team.
