  • 📚 Spotlight on Kiron Open Higher Education 📚 Meet Kiron, one of our partners creating pathways to education and employment for refugees and underserved learners around the world! Since 2015, Kiron has supported more than 175,000 learners across 160 countries through online programs and innovative learning models that help people continue their studies, gain skills, and move toward meaningful employment. Our grant will help Kiron reach more learners and expand opportunities through initiatives like:  > THRIVE, which has upskilled more than 700 women and trained learners in emerging technologies like AI. > Job readiness programs, which have supported more than 7,000 learners with job coaching. The impact is clear: > Dina, who completed Kiron’s THRIVE program, built confidence in data analysis, networking, and German language skills. Her perseverance helped her secure multiple job offers after years of navigating barriers. > Kseniia, a participant from Ukraine, gained hands-on experience in data analytics and visualization, helping her prepare for future professional opportunities in Germany. > Halyna, also from Ukraine, transitioned from business analysis to data analysis through THRIVE. She’s strengthened her skills in SQL, Python, and Power BI while improving her German and professional networking. These stories show the transformative power of education and why we’re excited to support Kiron in making it accessible to all.

  • ✨ Spotlight on Catch22 ✨ Meet Catch22, one of our newest grantees driving real change! Catch22 is a not-for-profit with a social mission. For over 200 years, Catch22 has designed and delivered services that build resilience and aspiration in people and communities. They work with local authorities and other commissioners to deliver around 120 public services that meet local needs and support individuals. Their vision for a strong society is one where everyone has the same three things to thrive: a purpose, a good place to live, and good people around them. All of their services help people achieve at least one, if not all three, of these things. This year alone, Catch22 has helped 160,000 young people overcome challenges and build brighter futures. From criminal justice and education to victim support and child exploitation services, they deliver high-quality programs and aim to reform public services to equip people of all ages with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to succeed. Over the last year, Catch22’s employability programs: > Supported 4,243 people > Helped 1,073 individuals secure jobs > 90% of people felt more motivated to enter the job market after working with Catch22 Our grant will help Catch22 grow its employability programs so even more young people can access meaningful career opportunities. Creating and fostering a great company culture is typically said easy, done hard. However, it truly feels like the Loan Vision team has figured it out. Humility and appreciation have to exist and be properly nurtured. Accross the United States, the Loan Vision team declared this week as our official LV-Service Week where we gave thanks and gave back to the communities we live in. In Atlanta we embarked upon a Beltline Clean up project. 8 of us picked up trash on the beautiful walking/running/biking path that connects our city. The amazing culture I am speaking about was on full display as we gave back and had a blast doing so! I truly love just hanging out with this team and enjoy all of their company and talents. A team that cleans together, wins together! #service #givingback #LVserviceweek #teamwork #companyculture #appreciation #humility Special thanks to Danielle Coley for organizing this amazing event. Thank you Dani! And thanks to the ATL LV team: Thomas Kowal Garth Beard Jenna Nelson, CSM Grayson Litowitz Robert C. "Rodj" Martin Brittany Varville Richard Nester

  • We recently shared our first impact update since launching in September. It highlights the recent work of two incredible organizations we’re lucky to support, Merit America and TransitionZero, and the work they’re doing to create more opportunities for people and help countries move toward a greener future. If you're curious, you can read the full update here: https://lnkd.in/gVikmyKu

  • Impressive update from TransitionZero! Their latest Solar Asset Mapper (TZ-SAM) now tracks 94,099 solar assets across 190 countries, using machine learning to map the rapid growth of solar energy. 🌍☀️

NEW DATA: The Q4 2024 release of Solar Asset Mapper (TZ-SAM) is live → solar.transitionzero.org 📈 This quarter’s release tracks 94,099 solar assets across 190 countries. That's 23,152.5 km² of solar PV, totalling 922.7 GW of capacity. ☀️ Over 12,000 new solar assets, covering 1,803 km² have been added this quarter! Traditional solar reporting methods struggle to track this explosive growth. TZ-SAM’s machine learning methodology can help plug the gaps. ⬇️ Head to our website to download the dataset, subscribe to quarterly updates and search for assets in our Solar Asset Explorer user interface.

NEW DATA: The Q3 2024 release of our Solar Asset Mapper dataset is live → solar.transitionzero.org ☀️ This release includes 81,435 solar assets across 190 countries. That's 21,350 km² of solar PV, totalling 853 GW of capacity. ❓ We built Solar Asset Mapper (TZ-SAM) to plug gaps in publicly available data. Global deployment of solar is rapid and decentralised. Today, it's hard to get a clear snapshot of how much solar is actually out there, particularly small-scale assets (<5 MW). This is where TZ-SAM's machine learning detection tech shines. 🤖 The algorithms powering TZ-SAM have had an overhaul. TZ-SAM is more accurate, reliable and faster to run, and in 2025 we'll begin quarterly data releases. Read more → https://lnkd.in/efP-TBqu ✅ Alongside location and shape, TZ-SAM includes an estimated megawatt capacity and construction date for all assets. ⬇️ Download the dataset and search for assets in our Solar Asset Explorer user interface. Thanks to our partners for making this project possible: Banyan Software Foundation and Global Energy Monitor.

  • Let’s get to know Merit America, one of our first grantees and an organization that’s closely aligned with our mission—leveraging technology for a greener and more equitable future. Merit America is making a big difference by helping Americans in low-wage jobs access higher-paying careers through certified online programs in fields like IT, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Their work opens doors for people who might not have had the opportunity otherwise. With our grant, they will help 250 learners upskill and advance in their careers. Recently, the Banyan Software team had the pleasure of conducting mock interviews with learners, helping them prepare for new roles and career growth.
