Two-year rotation-based program that is your opportunity with our support to become a leader in academic medicine.
About us
The David A. Gee Administrative Fellowship is a two-year rotation-based program that is your opportunity with our support to prepare you to become a leader in the challenging and rewarding field of academic medicine. The fellowship program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, affiliated with the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, provides the opportunity to participate, manage, and lead projects of strategic importance while learning from and alongside our executive leadership team. The best indicator of our success is our fellows. They come from diverse backgrounds and are having an impact here in St. Louis and across the country. Many of our alumni serve on a Fellowship Advisory Committee to support the fellowship and support fellows as mentors. Our executive leadership team views our fellows as a deep talent pool to prepare for roles of increasing responsibility. Our first-year fellows host interactive webinars in the summer to provide an opportunity for you to learn more about our program, the application process, and to answer all of your questions. Our First-Year Fellows, Harkirat Sangha and Noelle Wiseman, recently had the privilege of attending the Annual Arthur M. Lucas Medical Ethics Lecture, featuring Dr. Jim O'Connell, President of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. His reflections on serving unhoused populations challenged our fellows to think deeply about the kind of leaders they aspire to be. They were inspired by his reminder that leadership in healthcare is grounded in compassion, humility, and truly understanding the needs of the people we serve, so that we can make a real difference in our communities. We are grateful for experiences like this that shape the fellowship journey and reinforce the importance of thoughtful, community-focused leadership. #BJHAdminFellows #BJCHealthCare #HealthcareLeadership

Why BJC? One of the best parts about being a BJC team member is having amazing colleagues and BJC Connections groups. As members of the Young Professionals Connection Group, first year fellows Harkirat Sangha and Noelle Wiseman joined the group for a Jaws movie night at 9 Mile Garden. These events create space to build community, strengthen relationships, and enjoy time together beyond the hospital walls! #BJHAdminFellows #AdministrativeFellowship #Healthcare #BJH #WhyBJC #BJCConnections #YoungProfessionals

⚾ Why St. Louis? Busch Stadium! A little while ago, the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Administrative Fellows had the chance to cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals as they faced the Cincinnati Reds. Harkirat Sangha, Ryan Gregory, and Noelle Wiseman spent the evening together at Busch Stadium, taking in one of St. Louis’s favorite traditions. Beyond the ballgame, it was a great opportunity to create memories outside the hospital and enjoy the vibrant community that surrounds Barnes-Jewish. #BJHAdminFellows #BJH #AdministrativeFellowship #StLouis #Cardinals

🌟 Why St. Louis? 🌟 First-year Barnes-Jewish Administrative Fellows Noelle Wiseman and Harkirat Sangha (and Ivy 🐶!) enjoyed one of St. Louis’ favorite traditions this past weekend- the Forest Park Balloon Glow! Just steps from Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Forest Park offers fellows the chance to experience the city’s unique culture and community right outside the hospital’s doors. Moments like these highlight why St. Louis is such a special place to live, learn, and grow during the fellowship journey. #BJHAdminFellows #WhySTL
