Over 100 years we've been in business, we've earned a reputation as a high quality Steel Fabrication & Bending Company.

About us

BendTec is a metal fabrication business specializing in the fabrication of piping assemblies and the production of pipe bends for pipelines and steam electric power generating plants. BendTec is known internationally throughout the piping industry for its ability to bend large diameter pipe for these and other critical service applications. The curving of structural shapes for architectural applications is another of BendTec’s specialties. BendTec is an AISC Certified Fabricator. In addition to bending, BendTec also provides many other fabrication services such as engineering, nondestructive testing, welding, cutting, rolling cylinders, machining, heat treating, blasting, pickling, painting, ceramic lining and fusion bond epoxy coating. These additional services, which are necessary to complete many pipe bending projects, many times are sold separately from the bending service.

Updates

  • Running into tariffs with your 3R Fittings, give us a call, odds are we can make an induction bend to cover your needs and you will only need to manage one contract. No need to weld on tangents, hire a UT or RT tech or ship them off to a coater. One cost, one PO to manage from one source.

  • Follow up to our last post. On the lighter side today. Lighter wall pipe and buttweld fitting sizes, Sch Std, 40, 40S, XS, 80 or 80S will usually be tied to an ASME B16.25 Fig 2a bevel. The internal diameter (ID) may not be machined at all on most pipe sizes. BW fittings will see a taper bore to remove excess material left over from forming. Once complete both pipe and fittings conveniently fit up to minimize mismatch based on the nominal ID of the pipe. Nominal ID = Outside diameter of pipe – (2 x’s Average or Nominal Wall Thickness).

  • For the young engineers out there. When you are specifying beveled ends for your pipe system. Two of the most popular options on high pressure pipe systems. ASME B16.25, Fig 2C & 3C. The machined inside diameter counterbore allows all pipe joints to fit up and meet or exceed the 0.063” (1.6 mm) required by many ASME pipe fabrication codes. Other B16.25 examples will be posted in the coming days.

Why manage multiple contracts for coating, NDE and bending when it can all be done in one place. Choose from multiple plural systems (3M Skotchkote 327, Specialty Polymers SP2888, Denso Protal 7200), Fusion Bond Epoxy (3M Skotchkote 6233/6233P) or from hundreds of other painting/coating systems.
