About us
The Bildung Climate School is an innovative educational initiative that reimagines how we prepare young people for the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Rooted in the philosophy of holistic personal development, the program integrates vocational, academic, and artistic learning, providing students with a rich, immersive experience that fosters both individual growth and community engagement. Our approach breaks traditional educational boundaries by bringing together students from MBO, HBO, and WO levels in a collaborative learning environment. This inclusive model promotes mutual respect and values diverse contributions, offering all students a platform to engage with real-world sustainability issues. The Bildung Climate School emphasizes critical thinking, emotional resilience, and collective responsibility, creating a space where students can build meaningful connections and develop a sense of purpose.

It's over! After 12 beautiful, intense, inspiring weeks together we graduated 25 students from the 2025 edition of the Bildung Climate School. This year our students worked together in mixed MBO, HBO and WO groups to produce a sustainability-themed fashion show in collaboration with Albeda mbo Fashion - and that all came together yesterday at DE HER Milieupark in Rotterdam, with the impressive "Made in Humane Conditions" show and exhibition. Congratulations to all of our graduates, and a huge thank you to all of the teachers of the Bildung Track and the Project Track. This closes off Phases 1 & 2 of the Bildung Climate School, so as we round off this stage of our project, we'd like to thank the funders who got us there: Erasmus Trustfonds, Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB), Albeda mbo, Secretariaat NPRZ, ErasmusX. We'd also like to extend a huge thank to HefHouse for hosting us, to De Bildung Academie for coordinating the Bildung Track, and to stichting NIVOZ for the strategic support. Thank you to Albeda IEMS and Fashion for the amazing collaboration! We look forward to the next exciting phase of the project! See you all next year! 💚 Team BCS

The Bildung Climate School starts again next week after a two week hiatus for the May Holidays (Meivakantie) - we're excited to see our students develop their projects towards a sustainable fashion show and exhibition on July 8! Some footage of our students rummaging through discarded cloth and clothes for inspiration on their "junk" runway outfit just before the break. Next up: Rutger Engels and Shirley-Ann Mathis will be guiding our students through psychological and mindfulness practices to manage their (eco) anxiety!
