🌱 Introducing the Biodiversity Intelligence Methodology (BIM): science applied to nature investment At Climate Week NYC 2025, together with Biodiversity Intelligence and Cercarbono, we announced a strategic alliance that marks a milestone for environmental markets: the launch of the Biodiversity Intelligence Methodology (BIM) — an innovative scientific framework that sets a new standard for measuring, monitoring, and managing biodiversity, establishing the foundation for high-integrity biodiversity credits. The BIM introduces two pioneering indicators: • Biodiversity Performance Status (BPS): compares project areas to reference ecosystems to assess ecological integrity. • Nature Integrity Score (NIS): integrates BPS values to deliver a single, comparable metric over time. 🔍 eDNA en suelo para mapear biodiversidad a escala Desde Biodiversity Intelligence aplicamos metabarcoding de ADN ambiental (eDNA) para medir biodiversidad en el suelo. 👉 Detectamos +13.000 especies de artrópodos a partir de huellas genéticas presentes en el suelo en uno de nuestros pilotos en el NEA Argentino, sin capturar ni colectar un solo organismo, y analizando solo 7 gramos de suelo!!!!!! Este resultado demuestra que el eDNA permite medir biodiversidad de forma escalable y alineado con proyectos Nature Positive y créditos de naturaleza. Parte de este avance fue posible gracias al codesarrollo de nuestro pipeline bioinformático junto a LUCAI Bio, diseñado para resolver alta diversidad taxonómica en suelos subtropicales. 🌱 La biodiversidad del suelo —especialmente los artrópodos— es un universo oculto.
