The #AZBlue DEI Affinity Group, Amigos Unidos, brought vibrant energy to our Phoenix campus with a celebration of Hispanic heritage and artistic culture! 🎨 The event featured stunning poster boards highlighting artists and traditions from across Latino countries. Attendees took home puzzles inspired by a Dominican artist’s work, crafted custom coasters, and decorated sugar skulls — all while enjoying delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. A standout moment? Dr. Lauren Hughes from Prosano Health gave students a hands-on suturing demo using an artificial arm—igniting curiosity and inspiring the next generation of medical professionals. She believes true healing comes from presence, purpose, and hope. 💙 Jean Gribbon Founder of Beads of Courage, Jean has transformed pediatric care through arts-in-medicine programs now in 400+ hospitals across nine countries. Her work uplifts children and empowers healthcare providers worldwide. 💙 Gillian Aitken A Nurse Practitioner specializing in complex care, Gillian has spent more than a decade volunteering as a disaster relief nurse. Her personal journey fuels her passion for equity and access in underserved communities. Each winner received 💵 $3,000 and ⚾ Diamondbacks Suite tickets at the Sept. 21 game, PLUS the honor of throwing the first pitch!
