We are proud to announce Harmony Elementary's Abigail Buser and Blue Valley West's Heather Hall as our nominees for the 2026 Kansas Master Teacher award! 💫💙🏆 The award program, established by Emporia State University in 1954, recognizes excellence in seven Kansas educators each year. Buser, a library media specialist for the Huskies, is currently in her 10th year of teaching and has been in Blue Valley Schools since 2024. Hall, a science teacher for the Jaguars, is currently in her 16th year of teaching and has been with the district since 2010. The enthusiasm and support during last week’s surprise announcements was truly inspiring. Congratulations to our two well-deserving honorees! #BVTogether #ChampionsOfLearning

We are proud to announce Lakewood Elementary's Madison Cundiff and Blue Valley High's Kimberly Thompson as our nominees for the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year award! 🏆💙💫 The Kansas State Department of Education award program honors exemplary classroom educators with five or more years of experience who are leaders in improving schools, student performance and the teaching profession. Cundiff, a kindergarten teacher for the Lions, is currently in her seventh year of teaching and has been with the district since 2024. Thompson, a social studies teacher for the Tigers, is currently in her 20th year of teaching and has been in Blue Valley Schools since 2013.
