Today, while many celebrate National Boss’s Day, at Boca Woods we like to see it a little differently. We believe that true leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about influence, integrity, and the ability to inspire others to grow. So, today, we celebrate National Leader Day — a day to honor those who don’t just manage Teams but multiply Leaders. And when we think about leadership in its truest form, we think of David Sweet, CCM. David has shaped a culture here at Boca Woods that thrives on unity, growth, and shared purpose. His approach to leadership is rooted in connection — bringing people together, encouraging them to rise to their full potential, and ensuring that no one is left behind along the way. He’s the kind of leader who reminds us that success is collective — that great things happen when we support one another, share ideas, and lead with heart. Today at Boca Woods, we had the privilege of welcoming some of the finest Events Directors and Managers in the Country Club industry — all gathered around the same table to share ideas, insights, and inspiration on enhancing the Member experience. As the saying goes, “Knowledge increases by sharing, not by saving.” The morning was filled with great conversation, a fall-inspired breakfast, and plenty of creativity in the air. We were also delighted to welcome back Shelley Keelor, whose incredible vocals set the tone for the day, and magician Andy Gersh, who left everyone in awe with his breathtaking magic! I am pleased to share exciting news about our Leadership Team. Please join me in welcoming Julieta Mechkarska to Boca Woods Country Club as our new Clubhouse Manager. Julieta steps into this vital role with an impressive background in global luxury hospitality and a deep commitment to enhancing the Member experience. Most recently, Julieta served as Executive Food and Beverage Director at The Beach Club, The Boca Raton, a premier member-driven private club, where she played a pivotal role in a major property renovation and the launch of innovative dining concepts designed to elevate the Member experience. This role deepened her expertise in private club culture and the importance of fostering meaningful connections within a close-knit community. Prior to that, she built a wealth of global hospitality experience through leadership roles with some of the world’s most respected brands, including Four Seasons, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Trump International Hotel, and Mandarin Oriental. In her new position, Julieta will oversee all aspects of Clubhouse operations — championing exceptional service, strengthening collaboration across departments, and advancing the culture of hospitality that defines Boca Woods. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in building strong relationships, mentoring teams, and creating meaningful and memorable experiences for our Members. Originally from Bulgaria, Julieta first came to the United States as an athlete before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration in International Relations from Lindenwood University. When she’s not leading teams and elevating the Member experience, Julieta enjoys time with her husband, Chris, and their son, Alex. We are thrilled to welcome Julieta’s expertise, passion, and leadership to Boca Woods. Her proven track record and dedication to service excellence make her an invaluable addition to our Team, and I’m confident she will make a significant impact on our Community. It is with great pride and excitement that I share wonderful news for our Director of Communications, Mihaela Hillhouse, CCM: At the end of October, Mihaela will join Bocaire Country Club as Assistant General Manager. This is a very important step in her career.  Boca Woods has been well served by Mihaela in the last 18 months. She has implemented multiple new communications strategies, supporting Member engagement and awareness throughout the Club. Her creativity has included quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily publications demonstrating an evolution in professionalism, and catching the eye of the industry who recognizes Boca Woods amongst "the top four clubs to follow."  Mihaela currently serves as the Chairperson for the Florida Chapter of Women in Club Management, and she has been recognized as recipient for numerous scholarships which led to achieving her CCM designation in 2024: Certified Club Manager. Boca Woods has clearly benefited from her energy and enthusiasm for all things "Country Club."  Please join me in congratulating Mihaela on this exciting next chapter!
