Tuesday was a big day for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) at the Cottleville-Weldon Spring Chamber luncheon! BCI's Kristin Williams and Community Living's Sheri Wheeler Wiltse kept things running smoothly as emcees during the panel discussion, which included an employer, an employee, a parent, and a job coach. But the real star was BCI's receptionist, Paige McMullen, who did a fantastic job as a panelist, discussing what competitive employment looks like for people living with disabilities and sharing insights for employers on creating inclusive workplaces. It was an inspiring conversation about opportunity, inclusion, and making work accessible for everyone! #NDEAM2025 #EveryMonthIsDisabilityEmploymentMonth #Inclusion #Partnership #People #Community Community Living, Inc.

Where people of all abilities have opportunity to achieve their full potential and find purpose in meaningful employment
About us
BCI's mission is to inspire, develop, and support people with disabilities through a continuum of innovative employment opportunities. Our Organizational Employment Program offers paid jobs in a fully supported environment at BCI Packaging with continuous opportunities to advance. Our dedicated team of Employment Support Specialists works to accommodate each individual’s unique needs. Through regular training and assessment, we ensure the highest level of success for every person we serve. We focus on abilities rather than disabilities. We transform a desire to work into something meaningful and fulfilling. Our Competitive Employment and Skills Center vocational training programs empower individuals to work alongside non-disabled individuals while earning the same opportunities, benefits, and pay. We work with individuals to assess their skills and interests and draft plans to get them where they want to be. Once employment is secured, we remain available for follow-up support as needed. Achieving our mission requires successful partnerships. Companies with packaging and light manufacturing needs can support our organizational program by sending jobs to our team. Companies with staffing needs can partner with our competitive program to hire adults with disabilities. If you find that our mission resonates with you, we encourage you to schedule a tour at 636-875-5267.

On Tuesday, we celebrated an incredible group of BCI-St. Peters team members who’ve shown what true dedication looks like. Reaching five, ten, fifteen, or even twenty years with any employer is a remarkable accomplishment—and these individuals have done it with heart, teamwork, and pride in their work. ⭐ 5 Years: Alex B., Peyton W., and Crystal B. ⭐ 10 Years: Abby E. ⭐ 15 Years: Matt D., Alex W., Bradley B., and Evangeline H. ⭐ 20 Years: Al B. Families joined us during afternoon breaks to honor their milestones, and we celebrated with delicious pumpkin spice cake rolls. Join us in congratulating their outstanding commitment and contributions. We’re so proud of all they’ve achieved! #WorkAnniversary #AbilitiesAtWork #DisabilityEmployment #WatchMeShine #Teamwork #Service
