As low-carbon businesses continue to scale and mature, they need to identify models and approaches that are less dependent on subsidies. During #ClimateWeekNYC, BCG and B Capital, an investment firm and strategic partner, hosted a cross-sector roundtable with leaders from low-carbon solution technologies such as energy storage, nuclear, carbon capture, and hydrogen. The group identified several critical success factors: • Rapid evolution of product offer and customer fit to demonstrate value delivery in a rapidly changing market and policy landscape • Customer and downstream value chain orchestration to integrate customer needs and value into the core of the product design and commercial offer • Identifying and unlocking larger value at stake through the development and matching of specific business models to customer needs • Standardization and product alignment to create greater clarity on product attributes and improve value articulation • Deployment models aimed at rapidly reducing the marginal cost of technology/asset deployment to accelerate competitiveness on a level playing field • Engaging suppliers and partners throughout the value chain to drive collaboration that promotes efficiency, scalability, and resiliency BCG was represented by Alex Dewar, Cornelius Pieper, Karan Mistry, PhD, Mads Peter Langhorn, Siew Chiang, Yushan Lou, and Jonas Schröder, and B Capital was represented by Don Wood. #BCGonEnergy #EnergyGreenGrowthAccelerator #ClimateWeekNYC
