Our team is reflecting on an action-packed week that saw our team speaking at Twin Cities Startup Week (TCSW) and StartupCincy Week. Thanks to all who joined us - already can't wait until next year!
The whirlwind week of joy and energy continues at Twin Cities Startup Week (TCSW) with our panel "Inside Venture Math" where Glenn McMahon from J.P. Morgan at down with Reed Robinson (Groove Capital), Scott Burns (Mairs & Power Venture Capital) and me (Bread and Butter Ventures) to talk about the economics of venture capital, our business model, and how fund managers are also entrepreneurs raising capital. My take on what's required to give it a go as a venture fund manager: 1) the ability to successfully raise capital 2) the ability to source quality deal flow 3) the professional and community connectivity to support those companies after you invest. I so appreciated the opportunity to sit down with close friends and colleagues I respect and admire so much and have worked with for years. One thing that stood out to me - our VC ecosystem is highly connected and supportive behind the scenes of one another in some pretty special ways. Bonus: the butter pillow that happens to live at the venue (thank you broadhead.!). #earlystage #venturecapital #startups #TCSW
