Career day looks a little different during Manufacturing Month 👷♀️ Our Poplar Bluff location welcomed area high school students to Briggs & Stratton for a tour of the facility as part of a local showcase for Manufacturing Day. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn about the various roles and career paths available in modern manufacturing. Last week, employees had a chance to learn more about our engines and the products they power. This may be the biggest group we're ever celebrated in the history of the Commitment to Excellence Award, a quarterly peer-nominated award. In August, new tariff codes were announced on a Friday to be implemented on the following Monday. A cross-functional team of 11 responded at lightning speed to identify which of our shipments would be impacted. By working together and diving deep into the details, this team was able to successfully identify our risks and the path forward in record time. Things can change quickly, but these 11 employees lived out our value and acted with a sense of urgency to come up with a solution. On Monday, we said there was an exciting announcement coming about our history. Then, at the all employee Town Hall, we added a new addition to our on-site museum in Milwaukee: 🥁🥁🥁 a Briggs & Stratton Flyer! Acquired from an avid collector and Briggs & Stratton engine enthusiast in Wisconsin, it will live in the museum as an enduring reminder of where we started and serve as an inspiration for where we need to go. Power isn't just about getting to another job site or to the edge of your front yard--it's about making a sustainable livelihood using products whose quality and reputation you trust. It's exciting to see this historical object among other legacy products and milestone innovations.
