RHA is excited to share that Heritage Park is one of only 30 developments across N.C. to receive a competitive 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) award from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA)! 🏡 Heritage Park – Phase 1B will offer 51 affordable senior apartment homes in the downtown Raleigh area. This award will provide $1.3 million in housing credits each year for 10 years, plus $500,000 in gap financing through their Workforce Housing Loan Program (WHLP) funding. This funding is one of many pieces needed to create safe, affordable, accessible housing for our recently relocated residents and for up to 1,000 other families seeking housing. Heritage Park will also help to fill the gaps in housing needs for working families and seniors in the Wake County area. Our office has had the opportunity to work on all five phases of Westhaven Park, a mixed-income community on Chicago's West Side. Built on the former site of the Henry Horner Homes, this thoughtfully designed development prioritizes community connection, economic diversity, and sustainable urban living. After nearly two decades, the completion of the latest phase, Westhaven Park Station, marks a historic milestone. The development has now fully replaced the 1,656 units lost when the Henry Horner Homes were demolished, but with a transformative vision that goes far beyond simple replacement housing.
