The Building Industry Association of Southern California Los Angeles-Ventura Chapter exists to provide leadership on public policy issues that promote building and revitalizing neighborhoods with safe, healthy, sustainable and quality rental and ownership housing and measures that assure an adequate supply and range of housing types, sizes and costs that support a variety of lifestyle choices. We work to increase the public appreciation of the importance of housing and those who provide it, and facilitate improved business opportunities for our members. We are the voice of residential building and development.

Rebuild LA News: Edison offers to pay Eaton fire victims for damages, in move to avoid litigation • Edison said it planned to launch a Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program this fall that would be open to those who lost homes, businesses or rental properties in the fire. It would also accept claims for injuries and fatalities. • An attorney representing fire victims criticized the plans, saying it could lead to victims being shortchanged. Housing in the News: Despite reforms, Los Angeles is rebuilding very slowly Good intentions do not always lead to promised results. After the wildfires in the Los Angeles-area earlier this year, state and local leaders promised to remove the regulatory barriers that impede construction. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed executive orders exempting the rebuilding from the Coastal Act and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
