When you think of Wall Street workers, you might not think of Zohran Mamdani supporters. But for Business Insider, Alex Nicoll and I dug into the numbers (Alex especially!). What we found is a divide among finance's front-office workers — investment bankers, hedge fund managers, etc. — and their back-office counterparts. More back-office workers are donating to Mamdani, but front-office workers are sending bigger checks to Andrew Cuomo. It illustrates an intriguing and growing workplace divide among some of the country's biggest firms and highest earners. You can read the full story (which includes insights from some of those Mamdani donors) over at BI! https://lnkd.in/dPSCJNpE

In the latest episode of Business Insider's BOOT CAMP series, Jake Gabbard goes inside US Army ROTC training at Fort Knox where future officers take the first steps of their military careers. CLICK TO WATCH: https://lnkd.in/deYVP77G Every summer, nearly 8,000 college students from across the country head to Fort Knox, Kentucky, for Cadet Summer Training — the largest annual training event for the US Army. The program is divided into two camps: Basic Camp, a 30-day introduction for students exploring ROTC, and Advanced Camp, a grueling 36-day assessment that determines whether contracted cadets can graduate and commission as Army officers. During their time at Cadet Summer Training, the cadets participate in field training exercises, obstacle course, gas-chamber immersion, 60-foot rappels, and more. Business Insider spent four days inside Fort Knox observing both camps to see firsthand what it takes to complete these training events — and to hear from cadets about why they chose this path of military service.

What's going to happen to your TikTok FYP after a sale? If the company actually follows through on blocking off its Chinese owner from its US recommendation algorithm, your video feed may look quite a bit different. If they do some type of half measure that doesn't really align with the requirements of the divest-or-ban law, you may notice no change at all (but Congress may object). Sydney Bradley and I spoke to company employees, algorithm researchers, and creators about what might happen next. It might seem like there's a clear-cut pick in the NYC mayoral race for finance workers. But the donation numbers tell a slightly different story. There is essentially an even split between Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo when it comes to the number of people donating to their campaigns. However, the scale tips heavily in Cuomo's favor when it comes to the total amount of money donated. Cuomo received 88% of the money donated, with the average amount sent to Cuomo ($1,006) dwarfing what Mamdani received ($131). When including PAC spending, Cuomo holds an even bigger edge, with 95% of the more than $9 million donated from the financial industry going to pro-Cuomo or anti-Mamdani efforts. Alex Nicoll + Juliana Kaplan broke down all the data. But with Mamdani holding a big lead in all the major polls (and on the prediction markets), some on the Street could change their tune to try and gain good favor with what could be the new top politician in town. AI is disrupting the world of consulting, and so far, EY is cashing in. The Big Four consulting and accounting firm reported on Wednesday that AI-related revenue was up 30% in its 2025 financial year, which covers the year ending June 30. EY said that consulting services like "delivering enterprise-wide transformations" and "AI governance frameworks that help drive the responsible implementation of AI" helped drive the surge in demand. The firm said it invests more than $1 billion each year in developing AI-first platforms and products, including 1,000 AI agents and the deployment of more than 100 internal AI applications.
