📢 Californians are facing a hunger crisis: More than 1 in 5 households, and 1 in 4 households with children, struggle with food insecurity with deep disparities for Black and Latine households. #CalFood fuels food banks to provide groceries to more than 6M neighbors each month, ensuring families and individuals can put food on the table, including in our district. Take action now by sending an email to ask your legislator to ask them to support sustaining CalFood at $60M in this year’s budget. 📢 #CalFood funding is essential to ensuring food banks like Alameda County Community Food Bank can provide nourishing, culturally relevant food to the communities they serve. Cuts to this vital resource would have devastating impacts on families already facing hunger. We need #CALeg to fund CalFood at $60M ongoing in the #CABudget! #LettuceFeedOurNeighbors 💪 🥬

For today’s #MemberMonday, we are recognizing a food bank with more than 50 years of impact 🎉 ✊ Since 1973, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has been a cornerstone in the fight against hunger. Serving over 1,000,000 individuals per month, they have distributed more than 2 billion pounds of food across Los Angeles County through a network of more than 600 partner agencies. With the support of hundreds of thousands of volunteers each year, the LA Regional Food Bank remains one of the most efficient nonprofits in the region, with 96% of all revenue going directly to programs that provide critical food assistance. 💬 “CalFood dollars allow us to provide not only shelf-stable items like rice and oatmeal to our most vulnerable neighbors, but also fresh produce that supports balanced nutrition.” –Michael Flood, President and CEO, LA Regional Food Bank Discover how CalFood funding and dedicated community partners like FISH are making a tangible difference: https://lnkd.in/gD2WTp-K #EndHunger #LA#CalFood #FoodSecurity #MemberMonday

📍Washington, DC — This week, members of CAFB’s Policy and Research teams joined more than 70 fellow Californians at the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference to raise our voices against hunger 💪🍽️ Together, we brought the largest delegation to Capitol Hill — nearly 30 advocates met with Senator Padilla's staff, along with visits to Senator Schiff's office and other key conversations. Our message was clear: 🚫 No cuts to SNAP 🥗 Cuts to SNAP and Medicaid are cuts to school meals 📃 Oppose budget reconciliation cuts From the conference hall to the Capitol steps, we showed what’s possible when advocates, food banks, and community leaders come together. This is what fighting for a hunger-free California looks like. #EndHunger #HandsOffSNAP #HungerPC25
