The good news hasn’t changed: there are no limits to learning. John Fullerton, member of The Club of Rome, founder and president of Capital Institute, argues that the challenges facing Earth today—climate chaos, ecological degradation, social inequity—are symptoms of a deeper issue: outdated ideas still guiding our economies and our policies. This reflection is a call to question, to learn and to evolve. Pointing out how debates like Kelton vs. Moore reveal how dominant economic paradigms still dominate the conversation, even when they ignore the real mechanics of power, finance and planetary limits, Fullerton urges us to shift the paradigm: “We must begin with an education adapted to the new context of complexity if we are to lead ourselves out of the polycrisis.” Read the full article here 👉 https://vist.ly/4ami4 #systemstrasformation #NLTL

Here's Why I Wrote a Book When the World is on Fire. I will try to explain "why this book" when the world is on fire in a series of posts. Please excuse any perceived self-promotion. For me, this is not just a book, it's my life work. One idea, born over a decade ago. I have no better idea to address what we now call the polycrisis. Here goes, a series of posts on Substack, thanks for your interest. Part 1: When What We Are Working on is Not Working A decade ago during a roundtable discussion in Paris on Pope Francis’ Laudato Si preceding the UN Climate Change Conference (Paris COP), I grew discouraged. There were “serious people” around the table and we each had three minutes to share what we were working on, and how we could leverage the Pope’s magnificent encyclical to further our work. In my three minute sharing, I could sense I was failing to communicate the importance of Regenerative Economics and how aligned it was with the Pope’s call. In Laudato Si, he wrote: “We urgently need a new humanism capable of bringing together the different fields of knowledge, including economics (emphasis added), in the service of a more integral and integrating vision.” The Pope was obviously and “urgently” calling for a paradigm shift—the essence of my work—beyond the reductionist logic of Western modernity, right? Wasn’t that what we were gathering to talk about? THIS is what I’m working on, don’t you see! How do we put #regenerative #leadership into practice? For Ric Victores, CMP, MBA (Founder of ImagineX Productions & Director at Stern Grove Festival Association), it meant reimagining how a 200-person team could produce San Francisco’s oldest nonprofit music festival — while also significantly expanding the festival’s fundraising capacity, resources, and resilience to keep it thriving. Join host Natalie F. Masters (Director of Learning & Regenerative Leadership Program Facilitator) for this LIVE Regenerative Business 101 session to explore: ✓ How new mindsets in leadership create tangible impact — and how you can begin applying them in your own work. ✓ Many changemakers today feel stuck at the mindset level — “How do I think differently? Lead differently? Show up differently?” In this session, you'll learn what regenerative leadership really looks like in practice. ✓ Ric’s inspiring story of applying regenerative leadership to create meaningful shifts for his team, organization, and community. 🍂 When seasons shift, it brings renewal—a chance to set a new course. #Leadership is no different. This is your invitation to renew your leadership practices with new life, resilience, and capacity. 📅 Date: Tuesday, September 16th 🕒 Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm ET 👉 RSVP here to get your Zoom link: https://lnkd.in/g5pT9be3 We’d love to see familiar faces there.
