One such initiative was the transformation of the Zilha Parishad Primary School in Pune, India. In Building with Heart, we witness how community collaboration and sustained investment in education through the CapitaLand Hope School Programme drive lasting change. With increased capacity and modern facilities, the school now offers an enhanced learning environment that has inspired families from neighboring villages to enroll their children, opening doors to greater access to quality education. The community has positively recognised the school’s impact. It received the Community Advancement Award from the local government and is now ranked among the top three performing schools in state-level competitions. A second phase of development is already underway, set to expand the school’s capacity to 1,500 students. At the latest India GRI Summit, Gauri Shankar Nagabhushanam, CEO of CapitaLand India Trust listed in Singapore, along with a distinguished panel, explored the evolving landscape of Indian real estate. Discussions ranged from attracting long-term foreign investment, the sector’s maturation for institutional capital, to key risks and challenges. Gauri Shankar shared that while there's significant interest from foreign institutional investors, a patient and strategic approach is essential given the various factors involved.
