  • In The ABCs of Water Reuse, C is for Cost & Community When it comes to water reuse, the true cost isn’t just about dollars, it’s about long-term value for the whole community. Purified recycled water offers a reliable, cost-effective supply, helping communities strengthen resilience and secure their water future. Because in the end, a safe and stable water supply isn’t just an investment, it’s the foundation for thriving neighborhoods and economies. • In The ABCs of Water Reuse, B is for Bottled Water Bottled water might be a $10 billion industry, but its success often comes at the expense of public confidence in tap water. The truth? U.S. tap water, including purified recycled water, is held to some of the highest safety standards, often stricter than those for bottled water. Choosing tap water over bottled doesn’t just save money, it helps protect the environment too. The ABCs of water reuse ♻️ Kudos to Carollo Engineers for producing this A-Z of water reuse terms to help raise awareness of the topic. From aquifers to zero wastewater water, the book hopes to demystify the science and engineering behind reuse. Having reported and covered water reuse projects and developments from back in 2010 (remember the PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency NEWater case study, Jim Lauria?), I'm convinced it is no longer a technical challenge. We have the tools and pieces of the puzzle to deliver potable and non-potable reuse projects. It is more a communication challenge: convincing leaders that reuse is a sustainable, long-term strategy and a core pillar for water resilience. Bravo Cameron McWilliam and team on the creative thinking here - thanks for sharing! Onwards. #water #climate #watereuse #innovation

  • In The ABCs of Water Reuse, A is for Aquifers Aquifers are nature’s underground water storage. Think of them as Earth’s water savings account. Through water reuse, communities can replenish overdrawn aquifers with purified recycled water, protecting them from evaporation and contamination. It’s a smart partnership between engineering and nature, helping secure reliable water supplies for the future.
