About us

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. This is our mission, and it’s why working at Cash App means so much more than a job. Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

  • Scammers are making a full time job out of fake job offers. Here’s some red flags to help you spot them: 🚩 Job offers with no interview or from vague, generic email addresses 🚩 Requests for personal or banking info before you’re hired 🚩 “Overpayment” schemes where they send you a check, then ask for some back - the check will bounce, and you’ll be out the cash 🚩 Poorly written job postings or offers that seem way too good to be true Legit employers won’t ask you to pay for equipment, training, or send them money. When in doubt, research the company and apply through their official site. • Welcome to the Pink Pony Club economy 🎠 When Chappell Roan brought her four-night residency to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY this past September, local F&B businesses saw their biggest traffic spike of the year. Square’s same-store analysis (tracking established Forest Hills restaurants with 5+ monthly transactions since January 2024) captured what we're calling quite simply: "The Chappell Roan Effect" Our data shows waves of concertgoers turning the neighborhood into a four-night economic festival, with some restaurants even creating special "Pink Pony" menu items for the occasion. Earlier this summer, Chappell partnered with us (Cash App) and Visa for the tour, offering 15% off tickets through the Fair AXS ticketing system. Our partnership aimed to keep tickets affordable and out of scalpers' hands, with discounts credited directly back to fans' Cash App balance. During her September shows, Forest Hills, Kansas City, and Pasadena transformed. Groups of sequined fans [a fab example from KC, pictured below + also on our TikTok] filled restaurants for pre-show dinners and packed bars long after the concerts ended. We're sure you could guess what color was the favorite 💕 As Chappell wraps up her tour across the country, the numbers tell a compelling story: when thousands of excited fans descend on a neighborhood for multiple nights, local businesses see the benefits. The Pink Pony Club economy is real. And it's spectacular.

Normally I make a sad salad for lunch, but today I ordered something far better from Grubhub to celebrate our new partnership going live! Square integration for restaurants. Cash App Pay for customers. The Grubhub team understood Block's vision immediately. A collection of brands and teams who wanted to ship something that helps both sides of the counter: providing value for businesses and customers. Here's what this news means in practice: Restaurants manage everything through their Square POS - no more tablet farms, orders flow straight to the kitchen. Meanwhile their customers get Cash App Pay at checkout, unlocking access to next-gen consumers who value digital payments. It’s the same transaction, but the difference is both sides are winning. We announced the Square x GrubHub integration at Square Releases last week. And today, we're completing the story with Cash App Pay going live. Every payments player announces merchant wins. But they can't touch the restaurant's actual operations. Every POS company has restaurant tools. But they don't have 57 million consumers ready to pay. We have both. And we’re excited that Grubhub saw the opportunity to leverage both. Special shoutout to Emma Cai, Justin Kilian and Steffi Frede for partnering with us on this. What I'm most proud of though - the Cash App and Square teams working as one Block: Elizabeth Kozersky handled the Cash App Pay integration and Sophia Ebelt brought the Square partnerships expertise. More deals like this, coming soon. This is the future of how we show up for partners and customers. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g4Z8Masa

  • Our Head of Product Design Cameron Worboys recently took the stage at Hatch Conference to share how Cash App is navigating the AI design revolution. In a world where anyone can create anything–including building functional websites with Block's goose AI agent in just 10 minutes–the real challenge isn't what we can make... It's what we should make. Cameron explores how designers are evolving from makers to curators, why taste matters more than ever, and how our team's bold design choices help us redefine the world's relationship with money. Cameron's key insight: Create fast, edit slow Watch Cameron break down how Cash App is standing out in a “sea of sameness" and why opinionated design is a strategy for  business as much as it is for creation - full keynote on YouTube, linked in comments ↓ ___ * Prepaid debit cards issued by Sutton Bank, Member FDIC. We’ve always been focused on supporting economic empowerment at the community level. That means helping sellers compete and grow while helping customers connect to the local businesses they love. Neighborhoods on Cash App gives Square sellers enterprise-quality mobile app tools and lower payment-processing costs - capabilities that have traditionally been available only to larger companies. “More and more sellers are getting frustrated with credit card fees for the value that they get back from it,” said Jack Dorsey, Block Head and Co-founder. By connecting Cash App’s network and Square technology, Neighborhoods on Cash App supports both sellers and customers, creating a more seamless experience across our ecosystems." • Brand new: Playa Society & Cash App's second capsule collection celebrating women athletes. The collection might sell out again, but the message stays evergreen 💚 In the pics below, Olympic gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall debuts the latest collection ahead of ATHLOS NYC - four pieces that blend streetwear aesthetics with a clear message: "Pay Some Respect to Women's Sports" As Davis-Woodhall put it: "It's more than style - it's a statement demanding the recognition female athletes deserve." The collection dropped this week alongside Cash App's official Payment Partnership with ATHLOS NYC, including instant payments for athletes who typically wait months to get paid. But the real story here isn't just about money or merch - it started last year when our team spotted something obvious that nobody was fixing. The insight that inspired our latest work: women's sports merch was stuck in the stone age. While men's sports offered endless variations, female fans got basic league gear. So, Cash App partnered with Esther Wallace and Playa Society to bridge that gap - building both a platform AND products to showcase it. "Working with Esther, we were all super excited to figure out how to build for this problem. When we connected Cash App's money brand to women's sports and the conversations happening about salaries, we knew we were onto something," said the Cash App Brand Marketing team members behind the project. The first collection sold out almost instantly, proving the message wasn't only clear to us, but fans across sport. May's Atlanta Dream WNBA court takeover saw "Pay Some Respect" covering the entire playing surface. And from merch and paint on hardwood evolved into real impact: $10 million in debt relief for Atlanta families through our partnership with The Dream and ForgiveCo. Fast forward to today - we're currently in New York, bringing the message to ATHLOS with instant athlete payments and Times Square activations. "To us, it's not cute words on a hoodie," our team explains. "When women athletes make less than what their male counterparts earn, what does it actually mean to pay respect? We're trying to bridge that gap in a way that's authentic and sparks real conversations." The drop at playasociety [dot] com (link below) and ATHLOS tomorrow, October 10th, proves year two isn't a victory lap. It's proof the platform has staying power. Be on the look out for the Playa Society x Cash App team on NYC streets this week, giving away exclusive pieces from the collection.
