New findings from the final evaluation of the Rural Community Hospital Demonstration program (RCHD) show that the demonstration met its goal of impacting and improving #Medicare inpatient margins, allowing hospitals to maintain or slightly exceed the breakeven point for providing Medicare inpatient services. RCHD aims to test the feasibility and advisability of cost-based reimbursement for small rural hospitals that are too large to be Critical Access Hospitals. New findings from the final evaluation of the Part D Senior Savings (PDSS) Model show that across all three years, the model achieved its goals of increased insulin utilization and adherence and reduced Part D out-of-pocket drug costs for insulin users. PDSS contributes to the modernization of the Part D benefit and enhanced access to prescription drugs for people with Medicare.
