The Wall Street Journal recently reported that health insurance costs are expected to rise another 9-10% in 2026. "It's an unsustainable number for a lot of employers," said Shawn Gremminger, President & CEO of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions. In the past, employers responded by raising deductibles. But with deductibles already at unsustainable levels, that lever is tapped out. So, what's next? Join us for our next 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 episode on 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭, where Shawn will be joined by: 🟠 Laurel Pickering, President & CEO, Gateway Business Health Coalition 🟠 Janet Lucas-Taylor, Executive Director, Business Health Care Group Together, they'll discuss how employers can make their voices heard during renewal season—and find better solutions for their employees. According to new reporting from the Wall Street Journal (https://lnkd.in/gwUZ72Kp), employer health insurance costs will 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝟵-𝟭𝟬% 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the steepest increase in 15 years. The average annual cost of coverage for a family of four now rivals the price of a small car. Understandably, employers are unsure how to respond. Some are passing costs to employees through higher premiums or deductibles (in some cases up to $𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆). While 60% of large employers say they’re exploring new options, like replacing their insurer or pharmacy-benefit manager, in the next few years. With rate hikes in the double-digit percentages, why wait around for things to improve? Action is the enemy of anxiety. At Centivo, we partner with forward-thinking employers to deliver health plans built to be used, not avoided. That means: 🟠 Affordable coverage without endless cost-shifting to employees 🟠 Provider networks that reward quality and efficiency 🟠 Low out-of-pocket costs for members (two-thirds of Centivo members spend less than $100 out-of-pocket each year!) Rising costs don’t have to be inevitable. Let’s design a health plan that actually works for your organization and your people. 🔥 Most employers think rising healthcare costs are inevitable…They’re wrong. While the average employer health plan costs continue to skyrocket year after year, savvy companies are doing something different, they’re “bending the curve.” Here’s what that actually means: ❌ NOT just switching insurance carriers ❌ NOT just raising deductibles ✅ Strategically restructuring how healthcare is funded and delivered The game-changers we’re seeing: 🎯 Smart Funding Strategies - Moving beyond traditional fully-insured models to level-funding and self-funding approaches that put control back in your hands. Carving out the pharmacy and stop loss to maximize flexibility and savings. ⚡ Direct Contracting - Bypassing middlemen to negotiate directly with healthcare providers for transparent, predictable pricing (Orlando Health has made this easy with partners like Centivo) 📊 Data-Driven Efficiency- Using analytics to identify cost drivers and implement targeted interventions The result? Companies aren’t just slowing cost increases, they’re actually reversingthem while improving employee satisfaction and health outcomes. 💡 What if your healthcare costs went DOWN next year instead of up 8-12%? Which strategy would you want to explore first, funding restructure or direct contracts? #EmployeeBenefits #HealthcareCosts #BenefitsStrategy #OneDigital
