PLATHINIUM 2025: Advancing Plasma Technologies on the French Riviera  From September 22 to 26, 2025, the international conference PLATHINIUM (Plasma Thin Film International Union Meeting) took place in Antibes, French Riviera, bringing together leading experts in plasma science and thin film technologies. The conference covered a broad spectrum of topics, including plasma-liquid interactions, plasma-assisted deposition, surface processing, nanotechnologies, and data-driven optimization of plasma processes. Our department was proudly represented by Prof. Petr Vasina, director of DPPT and head of the Deposition of Thin Films and Nanostructures research group, who delivered an invited lecture titled “Exploring Ionized Metal Flux Fraction in Magnetron Sputtering: Insights from Laboratory and Industrial Applications.” In addition, PhD candidate Leila Zahedi presented her research in an oral talk ”Enhancing Corrosion Resistance of Magnesium Alloys with Plasma Treatment and Electrospun Biodegradable Polymer Coating.” Her outstanding presentation was recognized with the Michel Cantarel Student Grant, including a monetary award. On October 20-23rd, 2025, the traditional Plasma Nanotechnology and Bioapplication research group (PNB) workshop will take place in Češkovice, Blansko. Research stay at Linköpings universitet! Our researcher dr. Peter Klein, from CEPLANT center and DPPT, spent a month at the Swedish University, where he studied the diagnosis of bipolar HiPIMS discharges in collaboration with Daniel Lundin's team. Collaborative research contributes to the development of thin layer deposition technologies and strengthens international cooperation. The stay was supported by the COLOSSE initiative. From September 23 to 25, 2025, our colleague Dr. Richard Krumpolec, from the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group and hashtag #CEPLANT, participated in the 21st Plasma Technology Conference (PT21) in Kiel, Germany, where he delivered a invited presentation titled: "Atmospheric Plasma Functionalization of Materials: Nitrogenation and Amination of rGO for Advanced Water Filtration Membranes" PT21, hosted by the Experimental Plasma Physics and Theoretical Electrical Engineering at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Plasmatechnologie e.V. (DGPT), KiNSIS - Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science and CAU Innovation GmbH, is a well-established platform for sharing cutting-edge developments in plasma technology – from fundamental research to industrial applications. Pedram Ghourchi Beigi and CEPLANT at EuroCorr 2025!

CEPLANT at MMS 2025 in Tále At the beginning of September, Dr. Richard Krumpolec represented #CEPLANT at the 30th International Slovak-Polish Scientific Conference MACHINE MODELLING AND SIMULATIONS (MMS 2025) in Tále, Slovakia. Dr. Krumpolec delivered an oral presentation on Advanced atmospheric plasma technologies for surface modification of materials and coatings, highlighting CEPLANT’s research in plasma applications. During the conference, he also met with colleagues from the Fakulta priemyselných technológií v Púchove, Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, continuing the join collaboration with the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group led by Assoc. Prof. Dusan Kovacik. CEPLANT had a dedicated booth showcasing its scientific activities and partnerships, and proudly served as an official sponsor of the event.
