We’re proud to share the newly released Teachers Lead Chicago case study—a look at how CPS is redefining teacher leadership across our district. The case study was rolled out by CEO Pedro Martinez, Chief Talent Officer Ben Felton, and Chief of Teaching and Learning Nicole Milberg at Powell Academy. Results show that this first-of-its-kind, centrally-funded teacher leadership initiative is making an impact across CPS. Teachers Lead Chicago is building more cohesive school teams, strengthening instructional quality, boosting retention—especially among educators of color—and most importantly, driving better outcomes for students in 400+ high-need schools across the district.
