Our caregivers love the sun, smiles and activities at our annual Colorado Fetal Care Center and NICU reunion. But nothing compares to the ultimate reward — seeing a growing, thriving kid who they last saw as a tiny baby overcoming a serious medical condition. Take 2-year-old Theo, who faced a serious form of spina bifida before birth. In 2023, Theo and his mom, Shannon, had an in-utero surgery to repair Theo's spine. Without the innovative and exceptional care of our teams in the Colorado Fetal Care Center and NICU, Theo might not have walked. But today, Shannon describes Theo as “utterly rambunctious," saying he “1,000% walks today because of the incredible care he received at Children’s Colorado.” Thank you to Theo, his parents and everyone else who came to share their favorite memories, milestones and stories at this year's reunion!

About us
At Children’s Hospital Colorado, we know that kids aren’t just mini adults. They’re in a chapter of life unlike any other and deserve incredibly different care to match. That’s what drives our distinct, thoughtful approach to pediatric healthcare. It’s not just about the treatments we offer, but how we offer them. Our work has earned us a spot among the best children’s hospitals in the nation, and we proudly provide exceptional care to kids and families across Colorado and the region. Our goal is to ensure that every child receives personalized care that blends deep expertise and experience with compassion and a special understanding of what kids need to heal. Our commitment to children fuels us, but our team members make our achievements possible. Without a culture that prioritizes the beauty of difference and the importance of a thriving workforce, we cannot provide the kind of care we strive for. By allowing each team member to explore their passions, find flexibility outside the office and succeed through collaboration, we continue to reach new heights in pediatric health. When you work at Children’s Colorado, you’re joining thousands of team members representing the full spectrum of pediatric specialties and professional roles. Our system of care includes four pediatric hospitals, 10+ specialty care centers and 1,300+ outreach clinics. And from day one, you’ll play a critical role in making a difference for the children and families we serve. We’re proud of how far we've come in realizing our mission, but our work is far from over. Every moment of every day we are telling new tales — of kids overcoming difficult odds, of heroic team members changing lives, of everyday people finding their calling and making it into a career to be proud of. When kids with cancer run out of treatment options, clinical trials and research can offer hope for their families. Our team in the Experimental Therapeutics Program is doing just that: https://bit.ly/42xNez0

Many of our patients, families and team members are part of the Spanish-speaking community, and to give them the best care and experiences, we must provide culturally responsive care. Every day, we work to meet families like Angel’s where they are. Angel has complex health issues and sees our team in the Special Care Clinic. The family’s first language is Spanish, and Angel’s father Juan is deaf. To make sure we were giving the family the best possible care, our team came together to find solutions and ease communication. Learn about the many team members who didn’t stop until Angel’s family was as comfortable as possible: https://bit.ly/3KGssqR #HispanicHeritageMonth

Looking for an easy craft that makes a big difference? https://bit.ly/4gR8LbP As the colder months move in, there's nothing more comforting than snuggling under a warm blanket — and we're running low. Create a no-sew fleece blanket and donate it to help our patients stay snug during their hospital stay. It's a hands-on way for you to share comfort, kindness and cozy care to kids in need.

We work hard to make every person who steps through our doors feel welcomed and recognized. That work is aided by the dedicated members of Unidos, our team member resource group that celebrates Hispanic, Latino/a/x and Chicano/a/x culture at Children’s Colorado. Through big events, quiet ceremonies and everything in between, we hope you experience something familiar or new thanks to the work of our amazing team members. #HispanicHeritageMonth #HereItsDifferent

Last year, Annabelle survived a shark attack and had much of her leg amputated. And that was only part of her medical journey. After returning home, our experts helped her fight back against an incredibly rare infection. “I had only ever heard about this infection in textbooks,” says orthopedic surgeon Dr. Julia Sanders. Despite the long odds, Annabelle describes herself as thriving. “The care has been amazing, and I feel like we’re in the best hands,” her mom, Kellie, says. Annabelle is back to doing what she loves, even getting back in the ocean: https://bit.ly/3IODJER
