A great analogy for explaining network security with segmentation is like a hotel. The front desk is authentication. Elevator access, that’s segmentation. Room access, that’s micro-segmentation. CCTV = network visibility and analytics. And the security team? That’s your response plan. We segment networks for the same reason hotels limit access, you only get into the spaces you’re meant to be in. I unpack more of this in my latest blog post.
