The U.S. Forest Service has treated about 4 million fewer acres than this time last year. We're way behind on thinning, prescribed fire, and related actions. CCL supports the Fix Our Forests Act to improve forest management practices and reduce wildfire risk. This legislation also provides support for firefighters on the front lines. The Fix Our Forests Act primarily focuses on permitting reform and technology adoption for improved decision-making essential to scaling up effective wildfire mitigation. The legislation also removes bureaucratic roadblocks that slow down essential forest restoration projects and integrates cutting-edge technology to modernize wildfire decision-making. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ettVWZzx

CCL has teamed up with 21 other organizations to help advance the #FixOurForests Act! Healthy forests are an important part of the climate puzzle. The Fix Our Forests Act uses smart, science-based solutions to help restore forest health, reduce wildfire risk and protect communities. That's why, alongside our friends at American Forests, Bipartisan Policy Center Action, Federation of American Scientists and more, we sent a letter to Senate leadership urging support of this bipartisan bill ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dfjbFws9

1 billion tons of carbon pollution avoided 📉 Many of the climate measures from the Inflation Reduction Act are expiring soon, after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act rolled them back. But they've still made a big difference. "Every fraction of a degree and every ton of avoided carbon pollution makes a difference," says CCL Research Manager Dana Nuccitelli. "NOAA is now giving this year a less-than-1% chance of winding up as the warmest year on record, but a greater-than-99% chance of being among the top-five warmest years." It's not your imagination - it's getting hotter. We need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and move to cleaner, safer alternatives. https://lnkd.in/eqjtBZdN

America's energy demands keep growing, and so do our power bills. We need clean energy sources in the mix ASAP. https://lnkd.in/efpmHntS

"Where is my influence? How can I persuade?" Amanda Ripley’s words opened Citizens' Climate Lobby’s Summer Conference and Lobby Day in Washington, D.C. last week, setting the tone for one of the most meaningful experiences of my summer. Alongside 850+ volunteers, I had the opportunity to be play a part in 400+ lobby meetings on Capitol Hill. Sitting across from congressional staffers, I saw how personal climate advocacy is. When you share your climate story, you turn abstract policy into something real and urgent. I spoke not only as a Chemical Engineering student, but as someone convinced that technology alone won't solve the climate crisis. The solution lies in techno-policy nexus. From advocating for programs like ARPA-E and EERE to learning how committee staff shape legislation (thank you, Daniel Palken, Ph.D.), I left D.C. even more convinced: engineers must be in policy rooms. I'm excited to continue working with John Stolzenberg and the Building Electrification & Efficiency (BEE) team in our local chapter to drive progress in single-home electrification. Citizens' Climate Lobby is an international, nonpartisan grassroots organization with 560+ chapters worldwide, working to prioritize clean energy policy. Deepest thanks to Citizens' Climate Lobby: Madison-Wisconsin Chapter, especially Holly Jorgenson, Bruce Jamison, Steve Lewis, my fellow CCL youth from Madison, the many brilliant young advocates we met in D.C., and to my family for their endless support. #ClimateStory #CitizensClimateLobby #TechAndPolicy #ClimateAction #CleanEnergy #EnergyPolicy #SciencePolicy #CleanEnergyAdvocacy #ChemicalEngineering #StudentVoices #GrassrootsAdvocacy #ARPAE #EERE #Electrification #WomenInSTEM #WomenInPolicy

Open arms. Open hands. Open heart. Open mind. When so much policy is getting churned out from behind closed doors, I’m grateful to have an opportunity to look behind the curtains. Me & fellow volunteers with Citizens' Climate Lobby took to the hill earlier this week and spoke directly with members of congress and their staff. But most importantly— we listened. We opened up dialogue to understand their focus, their allies, and their progress on climate issues. Undoubtedly, they heard us. They saw us. Gathering in their hallways, lunch spots, on the steps of the capitol, and in their offices. We left them with an unspoken message— that we will not surrender. The movement for a livable future will not be defeated. 🌈🩵🌲✊🏽 #grassrootsclimate #climateaction #ccl2025 #alaska
