  • We recently gathered for our annual Employee Recognition Luncheon and Awards Ceremony. It provided a time to celebrate the last year's shared successes, individual achievements, and the values that make our organization thrive. This year’s All-Star Baseball-themed event brought together team members from across all departments to honor those who go above and beyond in service to our community. From the Value Awards and Directors’ Awards to our first-ever MVP Award, we recognized employees who exemplify what it means to serve with integrity, collaboration, and excellence. As the City continues to build a workplace culture rooted in service and respect, events like this remind us how every employee — all nominated by their peers — contributes to making Boerne an employer of choice and allows our community to be the best it can be for every neighbor, customer and visitor. We’re proud to celebrate our team’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to delivering the Boerne standard every day. READ: https://lnkd.in/gVCUjEJt

  • ICYMI: Last week we celebrated a big milestone groundbreaking at Northside Community Park – the largest single investment in parks and open spaces in Boerne’s history. Over the next 12-18 months, the nearly 40-acre park will be transformed into the City of Boerne’s premier destination for parks and recreation. The first phase of the project will include several high-value amenities, including: · All-abilities playground · Splashpad · 2 multi-use sports fields with lights · 2 covered basketball courts · 12 outdoor pickleball courts · Dog park · Food truck park · ADA walking trail READ: https://lnkd.in/gQ5ZsAv4

  • The San Antonio Business Journal and the Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation hosted the annual Kendall County Economic Summit last week at the Bevy Hotel. The event brought together leaders from across the region for an engaging discussion on the future of our business community. We were glad to help facilitate and be part of the conversation: City Manager Ben Thatcher participated in a panel on “Planning for Growth – Boerne’s Vision for the Next Decade,” where he highlighted our strategic priorities and the City’s rolling 10-year plan, which is updated annually. Councilman Ty Wolosin and The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce CEO Kimberley Blohm joined a panel on “Fueling Local Success – Supporting Small Businesses in a Growing Economy”, alongside other community leaders. We are proud to see Boerne’s vision, strategies, and commitment to supporting small businesses represented on such an important stage.

  • The City of Boerne was notified Thursday by Moody's Ratings of an upgrade to our credit rating from Aa2 to Aa1, reflecting the City’s strong fiscal health and management practices. The upgrade of the City’s rating is just one step below a top rating of AAA. “Our Moody’s rating upgrade to Aa1 is a strategic milestone for City Council and our leadership team,” City Manager Ben Thatcher said. “This achievement independently validates our fiscal discipline through healthy reserves, structurally balanced budgeting, and multi-year planning.” INFO: https://lnkd.in/gc_bwxeB

  • We believe that real progress happens through personal connection and clear communication. That’s why, as our Planning Department prepares for an exciting software transition from SmartGov to MyGovernmentOnline (MGO), we took the time to sit down face-to-face with the people who use our services most our local builders and realtors. Together with The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, we hosted an event that brought nearly 70 professionals into the same room with our Planning and Communications teams. It wasn’t just about a software update -- it was about having real conversations, answering questions, and making sure everyone feels supported throughout this technology transition but also with any project or questions they have. MGO is more than just a new tool. It’s a step toward a more streamlined, transparent, and user-friendly experience with phase one rolling out later this summer. We’re proud to join over 400 communities already using MGO -- and even more proud of how we’re doing it: with a commitment to personal service and strong relationships with the people we serve.
